Thanks man.You are living most bmw owners aspiration of migrating from bmw to Porsche. Congratulations on the 911! ( I hope to get there one day when I'm big)
Congrats, I love this shape. I share sentiments with you regarding the driving feel of these cars, once they hook you, you in for life. Very nice colour as well. I was chasing a similar 991.1 recently and slow to pull the trigger, the car sold in a day. This is a great switch from the cayman. The rear engine does feel different (better is subjective in this context). Enjoy in good health, we should do a Porsche meetup with the members from the forum, I think there are number of bmw guys with Porsches. Btw I think I saw you in the red cayman sometime back coming from Pretoria. I was in the black gts.I mentioned in my Cayman thread that we were parting ways.
While in CT for work, a mate sent me details and pictures of a car that I’ve been lusting over for a while. It just became available and was not even advertised by Porsche.
Made immediate contact with them and made arrangements to go and see the car. And the rest is history.
Once I saw it I knew this would be a great replacement for the Cayman and that was definitely confirmed after the test drive.
Car in question is a 991.1 911 GTS in Agate Grey.
I almost pulled the trigger beginning of November on a 991.2 GTS, while an amazing car, extremely fast I still wanted to remain normally aspirated. So passed on the .2.
Was considering 991.1 GT3 but the GTS is perfect for my needs now, more usable with the family, comfortable and can perform regular daily driver duties. I’ve realized that Porsche has me as a customer for a long time so will prefer to go through the journey enjoying as many models as I can.
Delivery happened Friday at 4pm and Saturday at 6:30am left for a pre-planned Clarens trip with some other Porsche mates.

lol on the plates. Yeah I’ll reach out over pm. Keen to setup something.Thank you.
As you said, rear engined is different and open to differing opinions on which is ‘better’
Good idea on a meetup, I’m keen to do it.
Maybe we can get something going and see whoever is available over December to do a run?
Probably was me in the Cayman (my plates prevent me from being incognito)
Congrats!Did the PPF. Unfortunately couldn’t get it done before the Clarens trip.
