Hi guys,
I have a small oil leak at the back of head that drips onto the plate above the exhaust manifold.
I used a mirror and it seems to be coming from the bolt holding the vacuum pump to the head closest to the exhaust manifold.
I replaced the gaskets on the pump itself as well as the gasket between the pump and head. I removed the pump the other day to check and the pump is not leaking. I removed the metal loop that runs over the top of the pump in the head and put some RTV underneath it before reinstalling, tightened to 10Nm.
Tappet gasket is new and has RTV on all points where it goes into a curve, tappet gasket does not appear to be leaking. Tappet cover bolts tightened to 10Nm.
I took the closest retaining bolt out yesterday and put a little RTV onto it and reinstalled, still leaking.
I was thinking of putting a little RTV between the pump and the head in case it is leaking from there.
It is not leaking from the vacuum house that runs to the brake booster.
Any suggestions, has anyone come across this before?
