Hi all,

I know that this is the showroom for cars, but if the Mods will allow it, I have something that im proud of.

Below is a pic of my new TV setup. The TV and the TV stand are the new additions. All the other stuff ive had for a while.

Please forgive the fingerprints as I was too happy, and too much in a hurry to take a pic and share, and less interested in wiping the equipment clean.

Specs:

46" Samsung 3D LCD TV
SD PVR - DSTV
5.1 channel LG Home Theatre
80GB Sony PS3 with the 3D Player Software update
120GB XBox 360 Elite
TV Stand from Game at R1000.

DSC01446.jpg

The 3D on the TV is great considering that I paid R13K for it with 3 pairs of Active Shutter 3D glasses.

Im sure that there are many better setups out there, but considering that I went from a 42" Plasma on a cheapy TV stand to this, Im quite happy.

Hope that you lot like it.

P.s. Ive since cleaned all the equipment which now have no fingerprints.

@King - Thanks. You wont spoil my thread.

Please put up the pic of your system.

Im quite pround of my setup. Ive been in Gauteng for one year and one month. For me, Im way ahead of where I would have been had I remained in DBN. Im currently changing over to my 3rd BMW. This TV and the family holidays Ive been on, have made it all worth the while.

I would have gone for the 55" 3D LED. But my wife needs a car also, and I want to have as much currency in my pocket as possible when looking for her car.

once again, to whoever reads this post and feels comfy enough. Please post your AV setups, whether nice or shabby.

WE ALL LOVE BMW's Here. thats a Given. But seeing as the Showroom has slowed down a bit recently, I think that it might be nice to extend the showroom to include things like AV setups.

Nice setup dude,
maybe think of adding a mulimedia player together with a 1TB ext Hard drive to store and play all music videos and movies.

This is the best mod I added to my home entertainment center

@Jenich - I currently have a 500GB external Hard Drive connected to my PS3 for Movies and Music. The PS3 is plays almost all video and audio formats along with Bluray and Bluray 3D. The TV has a 2D to 3D converter, which converts 2D video to 3D. This works best on Bluray, as normal DVD wont yeild any decent results. Although the 3D 'Pop' is not as pronounced as a proper 3D bluray, its enough to appreciate it.

@Kabal - I plan on getting a HD PVR in June

I also plan on getting an Onkyo Component system. But thats a lil while away, probably in October as a birthday present to myself.

Thanks for the feedback. Really appreciate it.

Kick ass setup there KING... :)

My setup not even close as impressive and i think i should take a pic at some stage...
Don't really have any dvd's or blu rays etc. my tv is a bit old now.. Series 5 i think samsung 42" HD, xbox elite, mede8er with 1.5tb HDD and sony 6.2 sound system. dont see the need for HD pvr as yet.. not enough HD channels IMO... so still sticking with normal DSTV... all my toys connected with fibre for decent sound.. Blu ray player supplied by my new laptop :) love toys so i got the new HP elitebook 8740W quad core I7 with 8gb ram and 1gb display :) just gotta love toys.. :)

Zabbo... don't know if you've done firmware updates etc. i would say do it. :) never have problems with mine :)

Dang.

@King - I am truly in awe of your system. That is an awesome system. Im glad to see that there are gamers on this forum as well.

I am a member on the Xbox 360 Forum. alright forum. just not as great as this place.

My favourite part of your system.... I dunno.... All of it. Also love the fact that youve got God of War 3. Ive just completed it. Seriously epic game.

Speaking of epic games, Im looking for a copy of Gears of War 2. Gears 3 is coming out, and I totally loved Gears 1. I dont really use my Xbox, other than for rocking out on Guitar Hero.

@Jakkals - baby steps bro. My setup looked kak before this. and this is just the beginning for me. once I get my own house, I will have a dedicated TV / Game Room.

@Zaleonard - I have a 28 month old terrorizer, but he keeps very well away from the TV.

I dont have internet at home. seeing as I am renting at the moment, I dont plan on putting in a line. The 3G connectivity is not the greatest where I live. So for now I play alone.

@King - I agree. just not very easy to find Gears of War 2 original.

I dont believe in piracy, therfore I did not chip my Xbox and buy pirated games nor do I buy those pirate DVD's. Id rather buy the original titles, especially if theyre on Blu Ray. 1080p ftw.

Once again, totally awesome system. I hope to get there someday.

Thanks dude

I also dont believe in Piracy. I use my Xbox for Exclusives. Last December I took my entire DVD collection and gave it to the local childrens home.

These days im growing my Blu Ray Collection. Only importing as it works out a lot cheaper

Here's my set-up.

IMG_1104.jpg

- 47" Sonic HD (LG Panel inside)
- X-Box 360 with Kinnect (Fanatastic for the kids)
- Sony SRT Amp
- Sony Tall boys & Rear's
- Cevin Vega Center
- Yamaha Sub
- PC that acts has my blue ray player/radio/TV Tuner & PVR. It's connected to the web so I can surf, check mails, make skype calls ect.
- Also have 5tb of storage hooked up & the pride of my collection Top Gear all 16 seasons including all adventures & Clarkson car movies.
I'm running window's 7 media center & it works a treat all picture files appear on the screen to make for a nice visual effect.

Those with eagle eyes will notice DSTV has I can't see myself spending 8k a year to watch TV.:nono:

Never stops though,:hammerhead: looking looking to network the house so that all the rooms has access to the multimeda files via their PC or laptop.

I had quite a few DVD's in my collection as well but I find a 2TB drive takes up a less space & makes the DATA more readily available.
