Must be the M badge on the door sill, door sills with M badges are lightweight versions of normal door sills, specially crafted by M division.

From what i have read online it also is the anthracite head liner ,the seats with the reflective stripes on them ,the rims with M badges ,gear knob and stearing wheel with M badges .
I dont know suspension wise if there is any difference ,because the ride is very hard but in the bends its magic and handles well

I was not a fan of the X3 as well until I saw the MSPORT version I like the package its not overdone , but it looks mean when you see it parked up
