New Mod - F80 Steering Wheel
so I was lucky enough to find a brand new F80 Steering wheel, I was overwhelmed before I started the DIY , but I did retrofit an M steering wheel on my old Z4si so wasn't too uncomfortable.
was a bit nitty but nothing too complicated.
the Matt finish of the new wheel together with the M stitching is tops, really freshens up the interior

Really impressed with the consumption on my drive to the coast last weekend.
I averaged 5.4 going down, but took a back road coming back which was pretty much stop go for about 300km.
also lots of stop go in Durban.
not at all bad for a 3.0l with an autobox.
excluding electric cars , I'm really keen to know what equivalents are out there when it comes to power vs consumption??

The 330d is the best performance/economy/handling package car out there.
In fact, so good is the 330d that Audi and MB have given up on this niche (6 cylinder diesel in a compact executive sedan) in SA and no longer offer the A4 3.0TDI and C350d models in their current line ups.

Agreed, and remember this is more or less the same N57 engine that came in the E90 LCI, so 10 year old tech.
for fun I compared it to my Z4 M coupe not too long ago , over 2 days I did the same journey to and from Vereeniging so 110km return, giving it plenty of foot on the way back both times as I left late at night, reaching around the same speeds and getting home in the same amount of time. The 330d average 6.1 l/100km where as the M coupe was a solid 11 l/100km

New wheels update
I wanted something different but not too over the top, went with OEM 20" Style 373M wheels from a 6 series.
they fill the arches up nicely and no rubbing
now just to find the M performance rear spoiler

it is noticeably firmer but nothing hectic, they on new runflats , would be much better on non rfts
I have active steering on my car so its super light, the 20s definitely bring back that stiffer feel
