Howsit Guys,

Haven't posted much on the forum, but what better time than in a build thread.

I Bought a 2010 Audi A3 1.8T on 25-08-2016
Its A Silver Sportback That Has The "Sport Package"
It Had 86000 Kms on the clock when I bought It.

Pics of the night I went to go inspect the car without a pesky salesman :p :

I enjoy the sportback because I enjoy the bigger car feel, (Almost bought a B8 A4 Avant 1.8t Manual), but like most people told me, this suites the younger guy look.
I was satisfied by the car and enjoyed the power, quite a jump from my '89 Mk2 1.8 8V Carb (Had 735000 Km on the clock XD)
But through my work I have driven a few BMW And Mini's and the odd other car.... I feel like they detuned this 1.8t so that its a bigger gap to the 2.0tfsi....
So now I want to start with a few mods, nothing major, but just to make it that little bit quicker, and little bit louder....

On 15/09/2016 I wanted to wrap my roof gloss black to make up for the lack of sunroof, so my buddy and I went and bought vinyl and did it...

I also decided to try some decals I designed just to do something different:

I Also bought some Audi OEM 8P (Pre-facelift) S3 Rims, Fitted them on the car, but the rim width just didn't look as nice as the RS7 reps on the car:

Also found a wild RS7 in a parking lot, so had to take some pics with the rims:

Also, with my buddies Scirocco (And his previous car:BMW e90 LCI 320i)

Bought a drop in replacement panel filter from my buddy at Tweek:

A few things to come:
Got a S3 intercooler for it, will do an install soon...
I want to do a Downpipe, want to hear more rumble XD
Looking at doing stage 1, not sure yet where, but will hopefully get some info and make a choice based on performance and price
I will look at my DV, and if it isn't Rev. D, will replace it with Rev. D
I might do a full intake. just like the OEM look alot XD
I am also on the hunt for some exhaust tips and a s-line boot wing

Did some wrapping over the weekend:

So on my way home last night my car shuddered then engine light came on, so i pulled over, whipped out the laptop and vagcom and ran a scan and there was a misfire on cylinder one,
luckily wasn't far from home so decided to limp it home, once i got there decided to do some diagnostics and easiest was swapping coil packs, so I swapped between cylinder one and two,
started the car and ran diag again and misfire moved to cylinder two, so definitely a dead coil pack..., but when I was in the process of swapping coil packs I noticed oil on the coil, and after some googling it seems the valve cover gasket is leaking as there are droplets of oil in each spark plug tube...

So this morning went and purchased some Beru Red Top coil packs and new NGK spark plugs... And installed them, they look nice, but haven't noticed any major change yet, tried logging some ignition timing angles, but they were a bit too jumpy so decided to leave it... was mainly 0.0-0.8-1.5 After Top Dead Center and would now and then jump to 0.8 before top dead center, would have loved to compare to stock coils but due to one cylinder being shut off it sent the measurements all over the place.

Not sure of the year models, but loads of Audis had piston ring problems. Mates car was drinking oil at one hell of a rate.
Think they were sized wrong from the factory or somefing.

Nice lengthy write up there buddy.

You will never go wrong with Software, downpipe and a full intake. I would say it is a must on these cars, it will enhance the performance by a decent figure from stock.

Nice car, looks like you had fun setting it up the way you like it. What will be replacing it? :=):

The dealership where you bought it is just around the corner from Wonderboom Makro. I go past there quite often.

Yeah, I was still getting there with it, but hey when an opportunity arises XD

But ja, A 2009 Golf 5 GTI DSG with 60K Kms on the clock is replacing it XD :cartel:

And yeah a good bud of mine was a salesman there and his dad is DP there, I use them a lot for my family's VWs and such because their service is excellent
