What an awesome machine! Congratulations

Im sure your search history must include sports seats...
@Benji my search history has more than just seats, despite me saying this will just be a daily and no unnecessary spending/mods :ROFLMAO: I would love a set of sports seats but these would need to be electric, as the car currently has memory electric seats from factory. I do have a sport steering that I need to recover before I fit, so seats would be a nice bonus!

Congrats, looks great! Excellent fuel consumption as well.

Do you get your cars washed at Mo's or were you just in the area?
@PsyCLown I usually try to wash the cars myself, but do visit Mo's on the odd occasion. I stay in the area and that's the only car wash I would use personally, I've seen procedures in place to minimize associated car wash related issues.

Congrats bud! Absolute beauty and nothing better than buying a family car with known history.

I think the style 162 Ellipsoid wheels will suit this spec nicely 😍
@///M Individual my sentiments exactly! I actually had 162's as my first choice but find they only work well on darker coloured cars, a bit underwhelming on the white.

I have since purchased a set of style 189's and these will be with me shortly, but the 193's have really grown on me and I'm now two-minded.

Congrats Kev!
You know what will make it an even better daily? Xcede!
These cars are so capable, to date i still rate the E90 330d was the best car i had owned.
@Arbee haha, I hear you and honestly, a remap is on the cards with @Xcede Performance and Juvan.. Just want to take care of some preventative maintenance first. I think it will be proper fun with a remap.

Absolutely stunning vehicle Kev! Meticulously kept and in fantastic condition. Having seen this car in person and witnessed up close the journey of you taking your time and doing things right this is by far the best looking exclusive 😉 I have seen to date. Quite unique and done just right. Excited for what’s to come!

I know I am late with the updates, 6 months has literally gone by in a blink and life has been busy - Some of that was on the little mods I had planned for the daily. I will try to recount everything over the last few months of ownership to keep everything up to date, for now..

The first mod was purchased a few weeks into ownership, I knew that I wanted to change the rear lights to the black line style tail lights and so began the search. First at BMW, who insisted that the lights were still available. Order placed and I waited 3 weeks to hear that they are NLA, what a waste.. I began to check options in earnest and in desperation reached out on WhatsApp to one of the many groups, I struck gold and @2slickgp had a set from his E90 M3 that he was willing to do a deal on - SCORE! Had these polished and PPF'd at my mate's shop, Elite Autoworkz and he held onto them till I was ready to fit.

I had purchased a set of exclusive splitters from Ebay as I felt the front end looked a little anonymous and I wanted something a bit different from all the other exclusive models. I had them colour coded as I wanted something a bit more subtle, that blended in. Once ready, I contacted EA and arranged for these and the tail lights to be fitted, I am super happy with the result.

Something that irked me was how dim the corona rings were on the car, my brother had fitted a set of bulbs from GW and these didn't light up the rings enough. Also I felt like the car could do with a bit of a 'face-lift' and so I contacted @FiRi@Rennzport to have this issue remedied. Opted for the updated white bulbs and did the fogs as well, so they could match. Visited him one evening at The Glassbox, the car and I were treated to great hospitality. Firi even went through the trouble of additional coding on the car, when updating the lighting. I left easily able to see into the future with all this newfound light..

When I received the car from my brother it came with a few bits and bobs that he had procured, but never got around to fitting. One of these was a poor condition Sport steering wheel. I needed to have the trim sorted and contacted @TMP TOYS to assist with this and received awesome service and results. For the recovering there really only was one option, Leatherboyz. Their work is honestly top notch! Visited Viz at JSN to have my airbag replaced as part of the recall and made use of their workshop to ensure everything was done to my standards - I was even offered pay for my work there on the day, after taking over a section of the workshop.

I then unfortunately had my first run in with JHB potholes and nicked a front tyre on the way to the office in Randburg, after being forced into it by a truck - Thankfully the rim survived but the tyre did not, it had a small tear on the sidewall and the car had to be left at the office while I figured out what my solution would be. Decided to just bite the bullet and have all 4 tyres replaced with Conti SC5's, I had received a set of OEM springs from my brother to lower the car, he went with OEM 6 cylinder petrol Motorsport springs to ensure that the car drops a bit lower than normal, given the diesel engine is heavier.. I found an OEM spare wheel kit for sale to ensure I am mobile if needed without having RFT's. Test fitted the wheel and then proceeded to have the springs fitted at the same time, with some new hardware and the result was a pleasant surprise.

With winter here, my old battery that was fitted by the prior, prior owner back in 2019 was due for a change. I called up Deago and got myself a 658 battery from ABM, fitted this and then needed to have it registered. @Clint@MMS AUTO to the rescue, it was my first time meeting Clint and that visit set the tone, for all work done thereafter on the other cars - more on those in the respective threads, soon-ish.

Next to another member's new acquisition, I will wait for that thread reveal..

Before I even received the car, I found a set of style 189's for sale, with the intention of reverting the car to true exclusive spec - these proceeded to sit in the garage for almost 5 months and never made their way onto the car. After the splitters and drop, I felt the M stars worked better and I decided to sell them. With some money returned to my pocket, I did what any smart petrol-head would do and proceeded to spend it on my final exterior mod, S P A C E R S.. The way the rears tucked in so much really didn't sit well with me and with the car lowered, it looked even more weird. I came upon a set of hub-centric spacers for sale and decided to try them out.. 15mm rear and 10mm front, I am really stoked with the result and the car has a lot more presence IMO.

Straight from fitment for a wash and polish at Mo's

That brings to a close 6 months of updates, which has admittedly cost me a pretty penny. The plan for the rest of this year is to focus on some maintenance before my visit to @Xcede Performance for some magic. The car is due for a short interval oil change and I will have some of the other work ticked off while the car is with Clint, again this will be another expensive exercise but necessary as daily duty beckons, with the car ticking ever closer to the 255k mark. @Kyle and @M3boi I hope you guys are happy now, worth the wait methinks?

@KPM3_30 congratulations brother!!! This car has made full circle. You really have done quite a bit and done it the right way. A very unique and different approach on the E90.

The steering wheel and rear lights are my favourite. Such an awesome touch! Now we await the most important mods some might say (I am the some) 👀 some @Xcede Performance magic 🚀

Many happy and safe miles 👏🏽
