Hi Gizmo

Sorry for asking on your thread but I’ve got the same set up of an e36 M3 exhaust and headers at my disposal, my question is what is the best option between that and an aftermarket set preferably a powerpipes set. I’m assuming that the aftermarket set would be lighter as the one shit are heavy.
Are yours cast steel by any chance?
I’m not too sure, but they the same as Gizmo’s in the pictures above

Oh OK, those are OEM, and made from steel tubing.

I misunderstood somewhat earlier, I was remembering the older M50B25 with the cast steel manifolds.

I've been watching too many American S50B30 swaps which are all basically M50B25's with a stroker crank, including the rubbish cast manifold.

That manifold Gizmo and you have is the most efficient best flowing thing money can buy for an S50B30/32. So unless you are able to fork out money on a full titanium system, you won't get anything better.

BMW put loads of R&D money into that specific manifold, so much so that later M52 motors had scaled down versions of it with converters attached.

For off the shelf yes. But as for custom there is a lot of options out there that perform differently according to driving style

Tell me, would you perhaps know if that headers would fit an M54B30?
