Well, here we are again!
A few weeks back I had a request from a friend of Rennzport to please detail his car. Naturally I obliged and we booked his Mercedes Benz C55 AMG in for and Enhancement Detail.
I arrived to an AMG like no other, an AMG which looked as though it would sooner eat me alive then be pampered. Cautiously I approached the beast and within minutes we were best of friends.
I began with a good wash, soaking the mag wheels and cleaning amongst all the panel gaps in preparation for a good correction session.
This followed was followed by a drive around the block to remove excess water and at this point I realised that something wasn’t quite normal here.
Unable to put my finger on it I pulled the car in and popped the boot open, followed shortly by the bonnet, followed shortly by the most sheepish grin on my face.
A good half an hour later once I had calmed down and stopped Whatsapping pics to everyone I knew I taped the beast up and began polishing the close to perfect finish the car already had.
Let me tell you this Mercedes was spotless. I did two passes with Ultimate Compound, followed by two layers of Chemical Guys XXX Hardcore Paste Wax and then just for the fun of it I added some Wet Butter Wax to the mix.
Take a look at the flake and gloss from just polishing alone:
The car was then re-washed and all the final details completed ready for the German GTG in Sea Point that same afternoon.
Oh, and a very pretty M3 also decided to tag along!
A thoroughly enjoyable detail on a car that is out of this world. :thumbs:
