Looting!

It is amazing how some of us are defending the looters at both these incidents.

Wrong is wrong, there is no right in wrong even if you steal for the right reason, you are still stealing.

Think of it this way, if they can why not all of us.....

Looters should face jail time and learn that there are channels to follow and not just stop next to the road to pick something up that in the first place doesn't belong to you. It does come through as a culture thing if you look at the 2 incidents mentioned here. But that being said, any looting is wrong.

Those who are defending the looters via orphans or dying starving people, why do you think this is right? and then why is it (second incident above) that when they complain about illegal electricity (being illegal, same as looting/stealing) that they raid the shops, why?

I need to understand that concept. I understand that they want power, pay for it as the others does or otherwise give it free to all, but what does looting a shop have to do with it, or even burning things. Exactly where does that come into the fact of being underprivileged. And then to the people on here saying that we are privilege, hope you are referring to my folks giving me my car and offering me a job at their company (just an example, dont shoot) ........ I worked for every single thing that i own and still is paying for it. I didnt get nothing for free and didnt get a car or job from my folks. And PS i am at the bottom of employment list also.

Stealing is stealing and is wrong, don't defend it

You keep saying 'we' and refer to yourself as being at the bottom of the employment list - are you implying that white people dont loot and just work hard for what they have? That's a very damning statement to make, and also I do hope that I just interpreted the sentiment incorrectly.

I don't think that race has anything to do with looting from the outset. I think it's an opportunistic element trying to get by. But also I think it's a group expression at showing rebellion towards the higher and more affluent powers that be.

Also, if you really want to talk about looting and stealing, are you actively fighting how coloniast Europe raped our country, and several other countries of valuable resources and have done nothing to return it or assist? Explain why the Cullinan Diamond isn't in South Africa (where it was discovered) but is rather part of the British Crown Jewels. Did that even cross your mind when typing out your thinly veiled response?

So, I'd like to see how to address the points I've raised, before you attempt to raise new points for rebuttal...

Fuzz, don't make it a race thing. I don't see any "thinly veiled" agenda in Lizzards post. It's referring to rich vs poor.

Wildly speculative.

What? You are asking questions that have no correct/clear answers, as there are just too many assumptions in them.

Are you just trying to provoke?

Did you miss the part where the man mentioned his appearance on the employment list being at the bottom? Does that not imply racial motive - not dropped by me, but rather by him.

Yes, it is wildly speculative, that's my theory in terms of rationalising the entire scenario.

So when asked about the colonialists, it's not clear and correct or too many assumptions taken into account, but when people commented on a pic with murky context, that was very clear cut?

(Would have replied to each point, but bear with me - responding from my phone )

I understood it as him not making big bucks. There is no such thing as an "employment list" so assuming it has racial intent is again speculative. You could have asked him to clarify before going on the offensive.

Another loaded question. I'll bite, but let me first explain why it is loaded.

You ask questions the same way suggestive interrogation is performed.
If your wife says: "IF you love me, you won't go polish your car again today." Horribly obvious, but polishing has nothing to do with love. It is not-so-subtle manipulation.

Let me break your question down.

Also, if you really want to talk about looting and stealing
-Implicating that what is previously discussed is of lesser importance

, are you actively fighting how coloniast Europe raped our country
-Stated in the most offensive way to conjure support for a view point. ie. if he is not actively fighting, does he then support the "rape", and distracting from arguing if the so called rape even occurred.

, and several other countries of valuable resources
Adding weight to an argument by way of expansion without justification.

and have done nothing to return it or assist?
-Conjecture

On to the other question:

The distinction has to be made between the question and the picture.
The question contained conjecture and statements of questionable accuracy, and thus could not be answered as stated.

The picture contains only some information, but nothing false. Interpretation thereof can be, but the image itself is true. People were looting. Looting is illegal. Opinions whether the law is subject to ones wealth and the justification thereof is where it becomes less clear.

This is a very fair argument - however, I suppose we differ in terms of interpretation and dare I say, justification.

This is just one of those topics where no amount of argument will solve - it sits with the individual and moral compass that's ingrained in them.

PS to everyone else reading, that's how you have an argument via text - you don't flame back, you bring facts and clear responses to each thread of the argument.

Kudos to you Jacques

I lost the plot and argument some were along the 10th post...

However this load on this particular truck in the first post was carrying a frozen load of fish..

That in itself isn't very salvagable and 2 hours of thawing later would be scrapped anyway as the truck would not have been brought upright or the load transferred over by that time.

Ok go back to the debates now..

I wasn't referring to any race in my post, i was referring to culture which is something else entirely.

I was also saying about me referring to money, value and not colour. I do apologize if that is how you saw my post as being offensive in anyway as it isnt meant to be.

The point i was trying to bring forward was that stealing in no good explaining way is acceptable and that stealing is stealing.

Sorry Fuzz and Thank you Carbon

We need a Dungeon master like in World of Warcraft.

That way the loots can can split fairly between all the raiders, the epic drops can be rolled for.

The loot system in World of Warcraft has never been fair to me.

But ya, i do like the latest patch loot master as you dont fight for the loot or friends steal it for you.
