Please tell me you are going to use the original lexus ECU to run the motor properly and not some shitronics management to run the engine very poorly...

If you do go shitronics/spitronics you will never see better than 9-10km/lt consumption...

Gizmo, why would you say the Spitronics system is sh*t? From what I was able to read on the net, it seems a good system. I heard if you run the OEM ECU, it can go into limp mode, where you will not have that problem with an aftermarket system.

Whats wrong with you...buy a tazz and work out ur fanatasy. U r insulting a Supreme Car.

It looks as though none of your cars have been older than 5 years and probably under motorplan as well, not all of us have this "pleasure".

Us okes who have limited budgets and like to enjoy our passion for cars are often faced with tough decisions when things go wrong. It appears that is what happened here.

We all work for our money bru, let okes do with it what they see fit before taking the moral high ground on the "supreme" E46.

Irritates me no end when a guy gets his hands dirty, invests blood, sweat, tears, frustration and money only to get lambasted.

Out of principle I think I'm going to bolt a rally style wing sommer to the roof of my 325iS.

I totally agree with you rhett. Isn't always as clear-cut as it may seem.

Maybe its not the system, its the guy installing it or the guy tuning it. Or they are older ECU models that don't have the amount of inputs as the new ones do. I personally have no experience with them to tell you more.

We do what we need to do in tough situations. If the engine fits and it can be done then I don't see a problem.

Will the fuel consumption computer still work with this motor? Never really looked into this kind of thing so just curious.

And what gets done with the gearbox? surely the BMW gearbox wont fit? are you going Auto or manual?

Do you need to make different engine mount holes as surely the BMW engine mounts wont line up? and how long will it take to do the entire conversion?

The 1uz has variable valve timing if im not mistaken, and only the higher end AFMs are able to cater for it. Thus the poor fuel consumption when using spitronics and other lower end AFMs

saw a box rolla at the drags in Bloem one day, had a 1.3 badge, it was running a heavily modded turbo Twincam motor.
