Personally I would stay away from aftermarket headlights for a BMW as they just spoil the look, but that is just my opinion.

In most instances i tend to agree with that, but as long as its not some funky @ss lexus style headlights it can look decent, just gotta be careful though, in the shop window they can look hot but on the car it can look totally cr@p, Learnt that the hard way once.

Try looking at different examples on other e36's to see what you like and take it from there, take your time and buy once :thumb:

Thanks for the advice, the only problem is that I cant use the bmw at night because of the poor lights and I cant afford to drive the merc every night, to heavy on feul and speed fines :)

If light output is what you are looking for then I would not recommend getting aftermarket headlights especially not the ones in found locally here in SA. I've had some experience with them and that usually crap and worse than your standard headlights in terms of light output.
If you have the projector type headlights on your car it might be a good idea to get a xenon kit for it.

But if you really want to get an aftermarket headlight might I recommend going for something that still looks reasonably OEM, something like this:

You can always ask Gizmo to do a nice headlight conversion for the e36. The man is is a genius.

That merc's engine comes from the industrial age. With some slight tuning you should be able to get it to run on coal and even then you'll need a coal dump every 100m to fill it up. With a E34 540i you should be able to get 10x more km's from R100 than with the Merc (OK so I exaggerate a little)... that's if you don't misbehave and the beemer won't float like a boat either. :)

The 316 looks good. Great for daily drive. Keep us posted on it's developments

That Merc 420se should not be underestimated, my dad had one back in the 90's and even with the auto box it was pretty quick a few E30/E36 325's can attest to that. It handled reasonably well but if you drove it hard you paid at the pumps.

You'd be suprised how many of the boere's wives drive bmw's :)

Wykid, as far as I know the 420se only came out with an auto box

Agree, I doubt we got any manual W126 in S.A. Only know of a few very rare AMG models that came with manual box's abroad.
