Garage 808

Good Afternoon

I would just like to check with the community in Cape Town, is Garage 808 still a good option for servicing and repairs on BMW?

I live in Brackenfell and need to find an Indy to look after my Moms E84 X1. It has been maintained by BMW in Stellies up to now, but I received a basic repair quote this afternoon that almost gave me a heart attack.

Any other recommendations are welcome. It is a bit difficult for me to get the car to the southern suburbs or Cape Town city as I work in Stellenbosch.

Thanks

I've never used them once and have no knowledge of them, but if @AdiS used them on his M5, then they're probably top notch...

I can give you a headsup.

If your vehicle is below 200'000km, then Garage808 will be happy to service it for you. But if you far over that (which I suspect for an e84), they will decline to take it in. They do service vehicles over that, but only if you started before then and worked with them to keep it in really good condition mechanically.

That said, where I can, the only place I trust my cars to go for a service. Unfortunately I have a new...errr...project, on my hands which I am 100% sure, they will not service after some of the $&#^ I found on it.

Hi

The car is only on 127 000km. I did see that they do not take cars in with over 200k km.

I would love to keep on going to BMW directly, but pricing has become crazy!

I highly recommend Garage808.
Please keep in mind that they are a tiny team - effectively a husband and wife team, and they are very focused on quality. This means that sometimes, quoting might take a few days, or the job takes longer, or they have a specific process or parameters (such as their rule of not taking cars that they have not serviced before with mileage 200,000km), but all of these are intended to maintain quality and make sure they're doign the right thing, as opposed to the quickest or cheapest. I appreciate that, and on that basis, support their ethos.

Yup, they not the cheapest, but the value for your money is unbeatable. Quality is tops. My cars always come back better after being at garage808.
