Hi, I’m new to the forum and BMW’s in general... Had an Audi A5 that I kept for 2 years and a C250d which i quickly sold in 3 months as I completely hated it.

I’m trying to build this new car as I will be keeping it for quite a while as I really love it.

I got inspired by a guy who done a bunch of mods for his 120D.

So at the moment I ordered lowering Springs and and a new performance air filter and I’m on the lookout for a downpipe tho I have a really hard time finding anything for this car. Can someone point me into the right direction to where I could get a downpipe from?

Already put some red alloys and a front lip splitter, I will attach some photos.

Interesting wheel choice for a 5er. We don't get the 20ds in X-drive in SA. Not sure how many recommendations you will get for London but maybe someone will know. Would it be worth all the effort since you have to pass smog/inspection/MOT in the UK?

I have my own MOT places where I go and they don’t check/look the other way so not a big issue, a lot of people do it here. i’m pretty sure its the same downpipe for xdrive as the 2wd.

The alloys I really wanted something more uniq so I wanted them to stand out, I can understand its not everyones taste tho.

Ah I see
I flip flop between these kinds of wheels LOL I had gold on my M5 for quite a long time and then went to OEM again. Now I feel like I need a custom set again  :roflol:

Try rogue performance exhaust they ship internationally
I had a look but they only seem to have for the petrol versions and not even G30 more 1 series and the likes unfortunately.

Thank you, I had a look but apparently they don’t have anything for a 5 series maybe they would be able to make something custom but I found someone close to me that could do custom, they called “fast lane styling and I also found something at DMT Racing, this would end up being cheaper and a straight fit but it offers very little info..no part number..no size and  I think its based in Russia

Welcome to the Forum and to BMW!!

While your choice in rim colour is interesting, I think with a decent drop alone it will look pretty great!
Look forward to seeing the developments on this car man!! :praise:

Darkside Developments are based in the Uk and I'm sure they will be able to help you out, they would be my go to place if it wasn't for all the shipping and handling costs involved in getting their parts to SA...

www.darksidedevelopments.co.uk/
I contacted them first but to be honest the price was a bit too much as they don’t have one and they would need to make a custom one... they asked for at least 400+vat(which is 20%) and they would need the car for a while and etc... but I managed something else after calling everywhere and nobody in like any country has a downpipe..

I spoke with someone at SA Tuning and they gonna do a stage 2 for me on 21 September... that would include a dpf/egr delete and blanked, an Intercooler and their Stage 2 remap... never had a stage 2 anything soo I’m excited.

Thankss, I got them off Ebay and they were rather cheap to be honest only like 30£ compared to the old c250 which costed 100£ not including fitting.

Also got an insta page with the same name as my nickname if anyone would like to follow? tho I will obviously keep this thread updated

Update!

So I managed to install the new Springs and a carbon M4 V style spoiler.

Here are some photos:

It was a complete pain in the ass to change them springs but I managed to do it...for anyway that It looking to do the same just know it will take a better part of your day...I mean look what you gotta do to change the back Springs.

Now I'm quiet proud after getting it done... I know I didn't post the best photo of the spoiler but I will take some in the next few days as it was already dark... I think it could've been a little lower...I ordered 35mm lowering but apparently they got me the 30mm but well it was the last and only one they had for my car so it will do... I like it.

Now next...I'm undecided what to do with the car performance car....I am booked for a stage 2 on 21 september, they gonna do my DPF/EGR delete... Wagner intercooler and remap...I also changed my air filter with a K&N one...It sounds really greatt..I like it, Anyway I don't know if I should also install Hybrid Turbo as they are willing to do it for me and it won't cost anything extra except for the reconditioning of the turbo price....

Any advice/opinions? Should I stay stage 2 or get her an Hybrid Turbo while I'm there. Waiting to see what you guys think.

Loving the boot spoiler, you should look at getting the diffuser and front lip to complete the look. With regard to the springs, was it a lowering kit?

I would do the stage 2 software with DP for now and see how it goes before deciding on a hybrid.

Thanks,
It already has a front lip(I’ll post more photos soon) but yeah I’d love a diffuser, only problem is I think there are non out there as this is the SE model not the M Sport soo I don’t get all the goodies unfortunately.

Regarding the Hybrid I think you might be right.. its just that in that way it would cost me twice cause they will charge for remap and labour again so..Idk... thing is I don’t want a 44k miles car to start being unreliable either.
