Hi guys.. i recently bought my first bmw. A montego blue e90 320d and i absolutely love it. I have alot of plans for it and have alot of mods instore for its future. Thinking of doing a 76mm freeflow exhaust and a quality remap for some kick😂😂. Maybe even a bootlip spoiler to add a bit of a sporty look. And obviously looking at upgrading the sound.. it currently has the base sound system which is a bit lacking for an audio lover like me.. i was thinking of starting with a 4 channel amp (as far as my research has gone i need a high low converter and some sort of de equilizer. Ive heard you can code the radio to hifi spec then this isnt necessary???)running the door speakers and a pioneer sub and then as money alows upgrading the speakers and underseat woofers and adding a monoblock for the sub..any advice on the sound would be greatly appreciated 😁

Welcome to the family, I'm by no means knowledgeable when it comes to sound so I'll keep a look out for what the rest of the guys will comment on it.

Hi bud

I have an F30 base.

Initially I just added a 4 channel amplifier and 12inch sub and had all the standard speakers amplified. Sounded decent and considerable upgrade from stock.

I then came across a Vibe Audio system for sale that I couldn't resist:

1. Vibe Audio optisound 8inch BMW8 -V4 underseat subwoofers x 2
2. Vibe Audio powerbox 80.4 4 channel amp
3. Vibe Audio powerbox 400.1 m -V7 monoblock amp
4.Vibe Audio CLRCA2 M1FB -V7 splitters x2
5.Vibe Audio Slick 4 -V7 CoAxial x 4 door speakers

A bit later on also purchased a used set of HK Tweeters with the pods. I had to get the window surround trim from agents as the base one does not have the cutout for speakers.

After laying for a few years finally got around to having them fitted. Amazing difference. Unfortunately one of the front door Vibe speakers popped probably from laying for too long. I then replaced the front with 5.25inch Kicker CS.

Very happy with how it sounds now.

The only thing I need to do is decide on the best way to get more bass into the cabin. Will either be cutting the ski hole and dropping the armrest or porting the backboard. Open to suggestions from forum members.
