Good Day Fanatics,

I'm considering some upgrades on my stock 2013 F30 328i M-Sport (N20).

I want to start with a catless downpipe and software upgrade (Bootmod3).

Any recommendations on a reputable workshop in Durban that can carry out this work?

Thanks.

For the downpipe, Flowtech or ACE. Both brilliant workmanship.

I'm not sure who does Bootmod3 software but you could try Ricardo from RK Motion Durban who I can recommend for exceptional tuning and even better customer service.

I have an intercooler that will fit if you interested. Wagner evo 1 rep. More than halved the temps on my car when we tuned it

I can also recommend ACE and Flowtech for the downpipe. Have used them both in the past. Great workmanship and service.
ACE did my 228i and it sounded amazing.

It will make that 330d a beast. Its a wagner rep evo 1. I had it on my 118i and it made huge differences to numbers. Dm me.direct fit to most f series
Is it a rep of an original Wagner? or a type or Wagner? Maybe I'm clueless. thats what I'm most interested in! Yes - proper intercooler does make a big difference - especially when we get back to summer.

Yeah I have heard ACE & Flowtech are the names to go for DP and exhaust work in Durbs. wWrt to Bootmod, just download it, buy the cable or BT dongle and you on your way.

However, I would like to ask why would you not consider a remap? and also, adding to your decision, how much do you want to stretch that motor? Those motors can present some issues later on...but like any motor in fact when remapped, right? So a custom map would be safer than going with an OTS map...that is not adapted to your car directly for many reasons including altitude, AFRs etc.

I am tuned by Xcede and they ave been doing that N20 platform for ages...but amongst them there are also other good tuners in Durbs too who do the petrol turbo engines quite well. Shop around if you would like....but I would say if you want a bit more punch and reliability, go remap.

I purchased Bootmod3 + OTS maps yesterday from Danny at DSC Motorsport. I haven't as yet installed it as I still need the ENET cable, which most suppliers seem to be out of stock on at the moment.

@AshG108 : Thanks for the recommendations. I have no plans on pushing the motor hard as I've heard the stories about them failing. I just want to get a little more 'punch' out of it, say up to ~ 200 kW, with some crackle and bangs on the over-run (plan to fit a catless downpipe soon).

I was advised today about a remap, but how does this fit into my Bootmod3 purchase? Is the remap a custom map on Bootmod3?

Hey Althaf, you can load custom maps through bootmod yes...okes are doing it daily bud. Whichever you are more comfy with, at the end of the day its your piece of mind when you behind the wheel.
