A mate has an M235i, the car is completely stock. Currently has around 160k km.
He is looking to make it somewhat louder, no silly pops and bangs and nothing too crazy.

What do you guys suggest?

On this 35i engine, N55 ...

I found the best combo with mine was Downpipe, midpipe and backbox mod. - this leaves the car with an absolute symphony and even a short BRAP note on let off...and when pushing it, sounds heavenly and has a whip-crack on the burp with exhaust upshifts. Hard to explain but all of this was unique on my car when compared to others.

Many guys commented that mne was also louder and sharper than the MPerf box fitted and did the backbox mod instead.

I went from:
1. Totally Stock
2. TMSS Downpipe only...
3. TMSS Downpipe & backbox mod
4. TMSS Downpie, midpipe and straight pipe - sounded like an empty trumpet more and had drone, lost bass in the exhaust.
5. TMSS Downpipe, midpipe and backbox mod = EPIC!
