technical E92 Wiper Issue

I'm at my wits end..
When I received the car, the windows would not stay closed (close and drop a little bit) and the seatbelt butlers were not working. I took it to a friend who did a scan which showed the FRM to be in transport mode. I took that info and decided to read up on it as its all gibberish to me.. The next day the wipers went dead.

I had the battery checked (that's what GPT told me to do) and what do you know, it needed replacing. Replaced the battery, had it registered and voila, the windows + seatbelt butlers started working. Replaced the wiper fuse and it came it to life again but only for a few days. Replaced the fuse again to bring it back to life. At this point I didn't notice that it only worked on the first speed. I called SMG parts to get a price on an FRM and I was directed to an indy who specializes in these repairs. He did a scan and it pointed to "JBE/Junction box". Off I went to procure a junction box..

Junction box procured, installed and coded. Wipers blew a fuse again.
Took it to another indy who told me to get a new wiper motor.. Ka-ching! (The sound of money leaving my account) A used wiper motor purchased and fitted.. and what do you know.. wipers still only working on one speed. Indy checked the relay, an after-market one was fitted. Back to BMW I went, ka-ching again!
New OEM Relay fitted, wipers STILL working like a snail. He has advised me to take it back to my buddy who can reinitialize the wiper module. If that doesn't fix the issue... Do I just push it down a bank?

Could it not be a faulty wiper switch? Definitely not the same one thats on the indicator stalk right because that one never gets used by "bmw drivers" lol....

Did the car undergo that airbag replacement recently... Bmw actually make you sign a disclaimer to say that they aren't liable for any frm issues that may occur during the airbag replacement

Indy did say it could be the switch, apparently its a bit of a biggish job to replace. The green light does switch on when I click the "auto" button.

Airbag recall not done as yet. It seems that the FRM is fine.

Blowing the fuse is points to a dead short or pulling too many amps, I dont think a module will do that.

Start by testing the wiring for shorts/continuity then move on to measuring the current draw on start up/working.

I asked about the airbag recall just to see if it couldn't be the reason why the frm was initially in Transport mode... And could also possible be why the clock spring and wiper stalk could not be working or working intermittently...

Does your vehicle have cruise control and have you scanned the car with inpa? Any actual codes or shadow codes being triggered?

I think the previous owner may have conducted some Corsa activities in this car to cause the bad luck..

So the wipers came back to life at full speed this morning, yaaaaay. Tried it a few times, worked perfectly fine. I parked the car and popped in to the shop, stared the car and the wipers back to being a snail. Tried it again, back to full speed :ROFLMAO:

Anyone have some black fowls running around..?

I have a spare "thingie" as per NBN's picture above which I removed from a 2006 120d when i fitted cruise control from a E90 which might work on your car if the problem is indeed the clock spring.

I see you found the reason why the car behaved as such due to the previous owners tactics and implemented the same to fix it. I think you either did it wrong or not long enough hence the wipers only worked briefly. You should work on not being so brief.
