4 Door E90 M3 Sedan.

I traded the Jetta, wanted a change, something along the lines of dont modify what you can buy... and i was already dropping mehd cash into the jetta . A "good" deal came my way and thought "meh, midlife crisis is due anyway"... this is a lucky packet of a car and the more i dig into it the more shit i find, so from a project its turning to a restoration.

Its a 2008 high mileage (180K) M3 E90 Sedan 6MT, only 379 of these specific models were produced for "world" other than the US of A.

I will say one thing... this is by far the most fun car i have ever owned and really puts a massive smile on your face. Its heavy AF on fuel (13L/100km) but its worth it.

Things done:
- Throttle actuators replaced
- New oil + Filter
- Plugs
- Rod bearings replaced
- Catless exhaust mod
- Engine Mountings replaced
- Gearbox mountings replaced

Things to do:

- Timing chains and guides
- diff and gearbox fluid replace
- New brake fluid
- Prop universal joint replacement
- new bonnet shocks

"Mods" to do:
- rear spacers 12mm
- Gloss black roof

Pics of the carnage:

Rod bearings... lucky the crank was still fine

Also went about and put on a new exhaust:

I'm running catless with only the one box at the end of each pipe.

WIll upload a video and some pics sometime, but it's loud loud... also feels a bit faster at the top but hard to really say.

The car is looking good Bud!

Now that the car is run in, the sound up top must be awesome man! Will wait for the sound clips :bravo:

Looking very good.

I have the exact car. Also 4 door and 2008.

Which exhaust bits did you take off. Mine is also catless and straight piped. Its properly loud, but a bit raspy on cold start. Thinking of putting in some resonators to tone it down a bit. Would appreciate pics of what you took out.

Had the car on the dyno:

279.9kw
378.8nM

Run took 9.3 seconds ... sure if he did another pull it would have been more.

Annnnnnyways...

Gearbox and diff fluid change booked in for end of this month..

@Luke 130i, this dyno was at the coast, Cape Town (sea-level).. In Jhb, the car (any naturally aspirated car for that matter) will suffer from power loss due to altitude (Above sea-level).

When quoting threads, try to remove the pics. Impacts loading time and uses more data, unnecessarily.

I see big difference at sea level with NA cars and noted thanks for the advice
