E46 320d Fan problem and service Centre

Hi Guys,

I drove back from Plettenberg bay yesterday. Once again, the car did excellent with diesel consumption. I have 2001 320d. The aircon worked 100% till we got home. The fan shows that it switches on but no air comes out. If I put the A/C on I can hear the compressor going on. No airflow. Does anyone maybe know what the problem could be, and also please advise of a service station I can use that is not SO expensive than a BMW dealership. I am in the east of Pretoria - Faerie Glen. Please help.

Is the filter just under the windscreen clean? There is a post on YouTube about changing spark plugs that shows you how to remove this filter

Could also be your blower motor in dash or your fan speed resistor.

Have you perhaps checked fuses?

hehe, I am waiting for January for shops to open to fix this issue on my car. Exact same problem, seems to be either final stage resisitor thingy(doubtful), or fuses or what I think my issue that water can get onto the fan motor under dash and cause it to rust and break over time.

I should know in a weeks time, rather crap to drive 130kmph with windows open :thumbdo:
