Thanks you all for your encouraging words. I hope I didn't bite more than I can actually chew.
To answer a few questions, Yes, the motor isn't the best but it came with all the right stuff that I needed & 5K was a steal. At 1st I didn't trust the seller, well, still don't but after I took the engine numbers and car vin to the 5-O, all came back clear & I was happy. The engine has a bearing knock & I found all the necessary bits to fix it from a buddy of mine.

I will be as kind as possible.

Sell all of it and rather buy that SL, this is a money pit and once once you are into deep will you realise it and then you are screwed.

Rather spend the money and buy one that is complete and fix what is needed, full on restorations are only for those who have buckets of cash, no sorry bathtubs full of cash. It is a very kind gesture but just get the lady what she asked for not what you want.

Build it....make the Wifey happy - a happy man, has a happy wife.

A massive project - and I see, you not to worried about a fully restored e36 M3...cause if you are - then you bitten off more than you can chew...but mad props for tackling such a big project - and its not your average budget project, its a M...

The motor was a steal, regardless of the state!

Keep it up man!!! :praise::clapper:

PS - Blaqjew - Please PM me, I tried contacting with regards to some e30 parts a while ago...perhaps we can make contact and sort something out, as I am building an e30 - perhaps there are some upgrades you can advise me on, as well as source some parts. Would appreciate it.

I know, I know..... I haven't said much in a while. Well, there's really not much to tell. I decided to get my hands dirty while the body was getting a new shade & the motor getting its new intestines.

So herer are a few pics of a few Befores & Afters.

Since I'm going with the black interior, I had to go find Black door cards & a black dash to match. (costly unnecessary exercise if you ask me).

The wheels weren't what the seller said they were. They were pretty crappy & overpriced. so I flocked them & got a better set of wheels.

You're right it sure has been a while haha, glad to get some updates. I have never seen those rims on an E36, will they work on an M3? I don't know maybe its because I'm a sucker for the BMW Motorsport rims and Style 32's on E36's :fencelook:. Glad to see you're making progress, I just hope it won't turn out to be a 'money pit' because I really want to see it complete.

Because this was a full colour change, they stripped the doors and started painting the insides of the shells.

I'm so subscribed, yes it's a tall order but I commend you for trying anyways :clapper: I also loved the first part in the thread where you said (A lot of people say it can't be done but I think I can do it, or at least try to before giving up halfway & selling it on gumtree as a "1 owner car" "just needs some minor TLC".)

Very well done on sourcing those turbine wheels. It's different but very functional.

You should just sell me the manual Vader's and go look for the electric ones with motor problems. :rollsmile: edit... Looks like you found them already? Black interior is niiiiice.
