Well done, lots of hard work and money being spent. I can see attention to detail and experience going in there. I have to ask though, will those single piston brakes do the trick? I'm no race car expert but the stock brakes even with red stuff pads (supposed to be a small upgrade from stock pads) are pretty crap imo on my F30. So not sure how those E36 brakes will hold up on the track?
Thanks
@Salt, this is a very good question.
The short answer is that I am not sure, we will have to test this.
What I can say is that your F30 is still a road car (I assume) meaning that it still has all the bits inside to make it comfortable. This is obviously weight that the brakes need to deal with.
My E36 is completely gutted so this should work with heat & slowing the car.
When I race polo's, I used both the large TDI Front Disc & Caliper as well as the smaller stock disc & caliper.
The smaller brakes just required more braking force to achieve the same result but the difference in performance was negligible.
The Group N 328i cars used stock sized calipers & discs which gives me confidence that it can be done.
The plan is to use stainless brake lines, high quality brake fluid to avoid boiling, PFC pads for the endurance as Brembo discs.
So lets see if we can get away with it. If not, I will have to find an alternative...
