Good day Fanatics

I would like some advice. I will soon be receiving a 318i E30. The car was standing for around 8 years, Not started in at least 4 years.
Firstly, What should be done before starting and what must be replaced apart from the normal service parts?

the car is part of a deceased family members estate, how would I license the car ? The license is behind by 10 years, Would I need to pay that up or can that be reduced somehow ?

Thanks in advance

Hallo

Firstly i would replace all fluid and lubricants.
Drain engine oil and new oil filter.
Before starting, unplug either crank angle sensor or all six plug wires, swing the motor over for bout a minute or two ( because it was standing so long most oil channels might be dry, do this to prime oil back into oil channels ).
I would do a full coolant flush.
a brake fluid wash will also be needed.
If car was close to the coastline, i would remove all plugs and spray in a little Q20 in each chamber. not to much.

after fluid change and all take it for a slow drive, get all up to temperature. inspect for oil, water and brake fluid leaks.

On the License side, only know that you need to pay up outstanding fees in full, not sure about any shortuts here

The vehicle needs to be cleared from the estate and you need documentation from the courts to show ownership does with you.

Death certificate, details of executor proof the estate has been wound up and car legally belongs to you.

Thereafter you can follow the regular licensing channels and pay outstanding fees etc.

Don't drive the car until this is done as it is not roadworthy and can be considered theft.
