Hi guys, new to the forum but not new to e30 although I’m having issues understanding one thing. I have a 1988 e30 325i and every time I order something from the agents they always give me wrong parts, they say with my vin number it picks up as a 2 door yet it’s a 4 door. I had the same problem back when a had a 1988 320i 4 door. But my other models picked up as they are. Can anyone explain to me why??? It makes me feel that the 88 models were like this.
I have the same issue with my 88 320i Automatic , YAY! so glad im not the only one lol
I had an odd explanation given to me by BMW Classic Germany a long time ago , I had to send them pictures of all the vin numbers , body stamps etc , I didn't think anything of it , think its to far fetched so I just left it as that .
The car was purchased by my Dad new in 1988 , and its "Technically" still in his name lol but its mine for many years now . The car has always been serviced and repaired at BMW and apart from the Exhaust , its an absolutely stock standard factory original car. The thing about this car was , it was not the spec of car that he ordered back then , what arrived was different but he needed the car desperately so he took it anyway .
I don't think its an issue with all 88 cars , iv had friends with 88 cars on campus who did not have his issue .
I have the same issue when ordering parts from BMW , especially the suspension rubber parts , and the parts that I need always cost more and are "Ex Germany" , My car also apparently "Sits" lower then my friends E30`s and the car is absolutely stock standard . It dosnt seem like that anymore with the thinner tyre though.
What is the production month on your car? If I can remember , I think mine is November .
