Howzit guys,

Anyone with experience of both: having moved from E to F …

Would you still buy E series? And why?

E Series prices are at their lowest (bottom)
F series can be had at very good prices but its double E series prices

- Tech: Definitely F series
- Handling: Seems E series from various forums
- Looks: Seems split, but F series much more modern
- Price: E Series, half the cost of F series

If its your money (buying cash), which would you take? F series or E series and stocks/savings

F series all day long. Too many listed issues (specifically with the X6 E series from what I've been led to believe) with the E series. Tech etc. much better in the F, like you mention more modern looks, most of the engines in the F's were TU engines (I do say MOST, not all). Depending on where you look depends on the feedback. It's the same as between E and F sedans and all that. If it were my money, I'd go F.

E series feels more solid but it's a much older vehicle and looks dated. What you save in terms of purchase price will be offset by the significant maintenance costs to bring the vehicle up to standard. Also the 8 speed ZF box in the F series is far better than the 6 speed ZF in the E series.

Fewer AWD system issues with F Series as well. I did look at E's and apart from the gearbox itself this was a factor to consider. Apart from better tech, it is easier to modernise an F as well with loads of options that can even use the factory screen, while not having the current stupidity of 'all screen' interiors. It is in a goldilocks zone of sorts.

Thanks Gents, appreciate the feedback.

330ci is gone. 325ci on sale

Lets see if stars will align sooner rather than later.
