I don't think BMW SA is bothered by the bad press, I mean have you seen on their FB how they don't respond to people's complaints

Why do you okes keep buying the cars then?

I for one would shoot myself in the head first before buying a new BMW after all their bad publicity with service.

Dont get me wrong, I truly love the products and I think they are fantastic and I have owned many BMW's over the years. But dealer service rep..... buy a new one after all I have seen and read...never!

I honestly would rather drive a lesser car and get good service than buy the best and be ignored or have a hard time.

In any case I'm playing with the classics for now (not that I can ever get any parts out of BMW for them anyway) but that is another story for another day.

Well I buy it because amongst many other reasons It is MY choice to do so, my choice, my money, etc.

I did not say BMW service sucks all the time. I for one had a horrible experience, and it was rectified by BMW SA and another dealership.

My point is that they don't seem to mind bad publicity, which is dumb, as pro-active behavior is better than reactive.

I was referring to the lady complaining about door rubbers etc, on their FB page.

Don't know about BMW showing customers the middle finger for generations to come, as I know in my experience they actually sorted out the issue. So they do come to the party, they do stuff up at times like any manufacturer.

It will just work more better if they more pro-active.

It's not what they resolve that scares me, it's what they do not resolve that does.

What if a Mercedes Benz service advisor read all the problems about BMW and was pro active to address these issues if they came up at his dealer ?
At least he would have a lot of satisfied customers .
If I bought a new car tomorrow...Merc C-series .....not a better car than the BM 3-series but less hassle with the dealer when the car has faults .

You know, I have just been out to get some spares for both my cars today.

I just got back from the Mercedes dealer spare parts place now, and the experience was good. They had the stuff I needed in stock, they were friendly and polite and really tried their best to be helpful with some damn impossible customers standing infront of me.

I then went to BMW spares dept to get some back order stuff from months ago on the M5. They made me wait for 20 min without aknowleging me, and then told me they "dont know what happened" another order I made because their system is offline and that some other parts I needed are no longer available. It's really so frustrating, no appolgy nothing. Nice job at making me feel like an insignificant mushroom standing there.

This is not a once off, it's every flipping time doesn't matter which of four dealers in CPT I try use....same story.

The chalk and cheese aspect is actually funny looking back on it, but these days I just drive the "boring" car because it's far less of a pain in the ass to keep going.

They gave him a 325, that's why he did want to return it :roflol:

:fencelook:

Seriously thou, good for him to take on the dealership and BMW SA. The manufactures tend to take many of its customers for a ride and 99% of the time they really screw the customer over, as its just not worth it financially for the customers to take on the manufacture.

Dealers always work hand in hand with the manufactures, in time of need nether will go up against each other, especially in a legal matter.

I can see this matter turning ugly for the customer, as he's going to be pointing one finger at BMW but have two pointing back at him. :nonono:

Thats the truth unfortunately :nonono:
But hopefully the CPA will come into favour for the customer!

As always there is two sides to a story, not saying is all the customer's fault, do we know all the facts?

BMW SA responded to my question of their view on the topic. According to them, the car was inspected, and quality tested and was found to be 100%. The owner has not came back after their tests, and the matter is now between the dealer and the customer.

Hope it works out best, for both parties.

That aside, I just got out of my BMW, I owned Nissan, Fords, Mazda's and Opels before, this is my second BMW. I have never experienced the awesomeness and passion and greatness I get from my BMW in any other brand. And my relationship with Mazda ended badly, and I did not even have a problem with the car, bu the attitude from Lazarus auto, right to the top.

BMW for me became more than a chosen brand, it became a way of life.
