Hey everyone first of all thank you to everyone on this forum for all the help so far. You guys have made owning my first BMW 1000% better and I appreciate it!
Now, as some of you suspected, I've had my car just under a year now, and I am starting to look into some modifications haha.
Issue is, I dont really know a lot, and I dont know what is specific to my car vs all cars. For context, I have a 2016 320d Sport Line (F30), I think I have the 140kw B47. I'm looking at a downpipe and a DPF delete. I have a bunch of questions, but honestly any information is great, Ive done a bunch of research but its still a little "black box" for me.

- How will a downpipe effect my car? I spoke to Xcede in Cape Town, they said it will improve fuel consumption and some performance. But I want to try understand better how it effects my cars reliability? Will it increase wear on parts, etc.
- Is a DPF delete recommended or not? I've heard this has a lot of performance increase because it increases air flow and is done at the same time as a tune. But what sort of change does this bring? Performance, fuel consumption, reliability, resale issues, etc.? I tried googling and theres too many Euro forum guys clogging up my searches with complaints about people who do it.
- When doing the above, what is needed from a software pov? Still a little confused on what the difference is between tuning, remaps, etc. I want to increase what I can without damaging my car, increasing wear, or causing issues with resale or insurance (what they dont know cant hurt them though
)
- And last of all, please just throw information at me
I struggle to find useful information online because I dont know what is specific to car brands, engines, etc. and not
