Do I extend the MP?

Hi everyone,

Have a 2019 G01 X3 2.0d and the motor plan expires next month.

I've had the car since March 2022 and haven't had any issues. Just did its 65k km service and got a clean bill of health.

Now at R26k, I have the funds but unsure if the car will actually give me issues to that extent.. or do I go with a 3rd party service plan and put some funds away incase of a catastrophic failure? Don't really need any mods except a tow bar as the car is used mainly by the wife to drop the kid and go to work.

Anyone seen any issues with the G series diesels?

I am in the similar boat.
I extended my plan by 1 year (6th year) and considering not extending for the next year (7th year).

General consensus is that these cars will not give major issues, especially since they are still quite young (less than 10 years old), and your mileage still makes it a virgin more so. So, not much value in any warranty option.

If you want to budget for services with BMW, instead of a 3rd party service plan, you could consider the BMW service plan and maintenance plan (not Motorplan) options.

Find a reliable mechanic, and get OEM parts from Deago. Put the 26k away, top up the slush fund from time to time, and you're golden.
Agree. But get just the annual oil services done at BMW, so you have the 'FSH with BMW' when it is time to sell.
BMW offer the Black Oil Plan which covers just oil and filters service.

I’d add a warranty for those big ticket items should they go wrong.
