Hi Mike. This one's for you as our Liqui Moly expert.
Since I did my oil change from 20W50 Castrol High Milage to Shell Hx7 10W40 I have noisy lifters :cursin:.
I have the cold start knock for a few quick seconds and when the car is warm and at idle I can slightly hear the lifters knocking (can also sometimes hear them while driving).
Freerider confirmed that it is my lifters.
Next time I will check with you what oil to use :hammerhead: but for now I would like to buy some cera tec.
My Questions:
I know cera tec will take care of the startup knocking and be an awesome engine protection but will it keep my lifters from making a noise?
OR
Do I have to get the Hydraulic Lifter additive to keep the noise away?
I cant afford to buy both so it's one or the other at this point in time.
Will any of these react to the prolong I have in my oil? (Don't be mad :bawling:, I only read your info on prolong today)
Pre-Thanks for any assistance
oh and another cera tec question: I read that it can last for like 50 000km's but is that figure with or without oil changes? Since it bonds to the metal I assume it will remain after an oil change.
