The scenic route is the R44 (2nd turn off for Franschoek from the N1). You see the mountains in the background of Franschoek.

I'll be at the museum till about latest 12:30. Got a lunch to go to

OK, I was thinking, if we want a real scenic route, we can take the R44 turn-off and instead of doing the immediate turn onto the R45, keep on the R44 and go via Stellenbosch on the R310 and over helshoogte pass for some nice bends before hitting the R45 again to Franshoek. I understand it is much more petrol (about 15km extra!) but lovely ride!

We meeting at 8:30 for 9am. We probably will leave latest 9:15. If you come later then try catch us on the N1 or meet us at the Engen-1-Stop, we'll be there for about 10 or 15mins.

I have the route on google maps all planned out. This is my first run. Was just pointing out that on page one of the thread is was already decided we taking the scenic route. Or is yours a little different?
