So this weekend I thought stuff it, I am unable to go the LED angel eye route as no one is able to get them so I bit the bullet and went CCFL, I managed to get a cool white version which I could never find before, and was able to test them out before hand so I bought and installed them.

More photos will come later today when I take some photos during the day.
These things are extremely bright! You could almost drive without your main beams on lol!

The Red lenses are a result of the painted cut offs reacting to the camera flash! the main beams are not switched on in this pic.

Anyway pics are good for the soul so will add some more later

looks great man!!!

PS: i have stock of the LED angel eye rings for the E46

That's awesome! You did say you would let me know when you had! :( How much do you charge for a set? and do you have an example of what they look like and a pic of the set itself?

The led set is cool as I will be able to wire it up to my foot-well lights which will make them fade on and off when I lock or unlock my car which is definitely what I want!

If the CCFLs are as bright as u say, why would you want LEDs? Are they brighter? Are the CCFLs clearly visible in daylight?

I already stated in my previous statement why I want LED's....you cannot fade a CCFL, they switch on or off. CCFL's also give problems and sometimes go pink or green! Especially if its a very cold morning. If I get the LED halos I will have the option of connecting them to the passenger foot-well light which will cause them to fade on when I unlock the car with the remote.

They are very clearly visible during the day!

Look I don't mind the CCFL rings, I just think LED's look better and they are even brighter! well depending on the manufacturer and the wattage of the LED's

CCFL also need to warm up so when you first switch them on they are not full brightness :( you have to wait a while. its not a train smash but LED doesn't have this problem.

I'm trying to decide between CCFLs & LED AEs. I'm leaning towards LEDs but your CCFLs look amazing.

Thanks :)

Yea I took my car to the wash now, and while they were washing her I decided to stand far back and have a look at the CCFL's and I must say....I am pretty damn happy with them, they are blindingly bright! and look LED from a few meters away. I think I might stick with them unless Vsomai shows me some seriously impressive LED halos

I must admit though, I don't like the colour of my fog lights now! they are LED's but I think they have a colour temp of 12000k which looks very purple, I am going to have to sort that out!

for those deciding between LED and CCFL angel eye rings, here are some pics of the LED types. i am sure there are a lot of CCFL pics and knowledge out there.

my opinion is that LED are better because they are:
1. longer lasting
2. no added extra parts that can fail (ballasts)
3. do not reflect light off the shrouds and blur the AE's
4. can do the fade in and fade out thing with them
5. not fragile and easier to package and ship to you guys

Just a suggestion: consider blacking out your headlights
ie. spray all the chrome black, less reflection off of the shrouds & halogen housing.
