Personally I think the paint sucks!!! :mmm:
...and here is why:

Frozen Gray M3 Owners required to sign paint care agreement before delivery

For the lucky 30 callers that got through to BMW's order hot line for the limited edition 2011 Frozen Gray M3 there are a few interesting extra steps BMW is making them perform to get their new babies! BMW is making soon to be 2011 Frozen Gray M3 owners sign an agreement that they understand the care the "frozen" paint finish requires.

BMW's Suggestions to avoid paint damage -
- Never polish or wax the frozen gray paint as it could lead to a glossy surface.
- If washing your frozen gray M3 in a automatic car wash (you should be killed) choose a car wash that does not apply vehicle wax.
- Rinse the M3 with high pressure water to remove dirt before sending it through the automatic car wash to avoid scratches from sand, dust and other micro-particles.
- Remove bugs, bird poo, tree sap, tar, fuel spills or oil immediately using a soft sponge.
- Avoid strong rubbing while cleaning the frozen paint. BMW sells suitable products for maintaining the frozen paint at your local dealer.
- Repairs to the paint (scratches, dents, etching) must be completed by a BMW trained body shop. Most auto body shop will not be capable of repairing the frozen gray paint.

The agreement goes on to explicitly state that the warranty does not cover the frozen gray paint if it is damage by the owner as a result of negligence, lack of maintenance or proper care, environmental damage or improper repairs. Only once the agreement is signed and returned to BMW will their car be shipped to them. Without signing the notice you're not getting your shiny new (or in this case matt) 2011 BMW Frozen Gray M3.

Its interesting that these 30 Frozen Gray M3 owners are paying extra for a finish that seems less durable, easier to damage and impossible to repair.

Now I ask you, if you have the money to buy this badboy, would you really go and remove birdshit yourself everytime you see it hit your car??

This is the exact reason I don't like matt, it doesn't look nearly as good as the amount of trouble it is to keep it looking reasonably good. I wonder how long this matt finish would last even if you follow all the proper procedures to maintain it?

yes I will...
I wouldn't want bird chit on my car in any case so a microfibre cloth and spray bottle will follow me everywhere I go...And possibly a migrant worker in my boot....who's distant relative owned a backyard BMW workshop....from his mom's garage....or shed..
