What now!
After a couple of hours of stop and go errand driving in 85 plus degree heat...I pull into the driveway and the normally smooth running m54 engine starts to shake and quiver backfire
Raised the bonnet...No burning smells, couldn't see anything from the OFHG area...no smoke, didn't bother to investigate more.
Had a good 2 months run of no problems I guess.

Yeah...I just PARKED it!
Kinda discussed with the thing for now. I crank it up and drive it around the block every 5 days.
At the start I do remember removing coil pack #3 and there was motor oil at the tip...I may need to do the V cover gasket?

Yeah...it was the coil packs #1 and #2 replaced and the M54 is back to being smooth.

Yes let's see how long it lasts
This morning while driving with the roof open and me forgetting that I left the phone on top of the roof. I hit the breaks and the phone slid into the open mouth of the rear roof window.
Had to open the trunk and peel away the black rubber weather trunk strip to retrieve the phone.
Could have been worse.

Just completed a Thanksgiving 885 mile roundtrip run, 20 year old X3 M54 230K B30 no hiccups what so ever... Breaks took a beating in the stop and go traffic every so often. I'll address in the near future.
Curious to check the oil level to note any changes.
Checked the oil...no level change.
However, oil color is much blacker. Last changed oil in August!?
Car purrs now, really needed that run on the hwy I had two weeks ago changed out the belts and coil packs.
Ah yes, one hiccup...on the trip I was able to notice the driver side doors were loose and sagging. Lucky I had the hex set with me. Adjusted the strike plates and the slight low squeeking and clicking vanished!

During this cold snap the hood shocks kept letting me down (couldn't keep the hood up) had to replace them... 
Car was also slow at warning up the cabin during this cold snap (until driving on the freeway)... Changed out the heater control valve, now the cabin heat up is much quicker.

Installed the powerflex bushings control arms at the shop... Existing ones were fine. We'll see how they perform.
My experience so far: no major differences but this is only day two... New installs need days of driving to get acclimated to the car.

please let us know on how these perform on the car, was thinking of them for my e46 arms. some people say it makes ride tighter and harsher but better control.

Yeah that's what I searched as well... we'll see of course it'll have to be a drastic experience (I doubt it) for me to remove them...
As you may well know there's one level above the purple and a couple levels beneath.

Went for a 300 mile joy ride (drove her really hard? only to discover a small crack in the radiator plastic neck.
This likely could mean...
New radiator
Bottle of radiator fluid
New expansion tank
New expansion tank thermostat
...any way of saving the radiator?
