Removed it, cleaned with carb cleaner and reinstalled. Fault still there so Im almost certain the sensor is toast.:blueCry:

Well at least you got the car for R47k, which is a decently low price. But yeah sucky that sensors cost so much.

Nice dude. You finally found your 330d! and it looks to be in damn good condition.

Also if I were you I would replace each and every single vacuum line in that car they are bound to be toast at that mileage and if they are you will notice a nice improvement.

Also take the intercooler off and fill it with water and see if it leaks. I did that and I had a bad leak that robbed me of almost 200nm or torque.

Check out the old brake fluid, Im sure this is the first time being flushed as the filter screen had no tool marks from previous removal. Yum yum!

With all the covers, viscous fan and washer bottle removed it's easy to see what is going on around the motor. Much easier to diagnose.

Yeah the boost pipes need a ton of force to get them deep enough into the cooler to clip in. If you want to replace that part of the boost pipe have a look on Luis' thread. There is a link for it. I would also think the boost sensor is poked, Fuel consumption was low enough not to bee a major boost leak.

The car looks good

Excellent and exciting thread! Glad to see you're working with diesels, Gizmo. As much as they're the fuel of satan, they make so much more sense up here at altitude and often give their naturally aspirated counterparts quite a spanking. Great combination of performance and economy, especially on the 330d.

I think after this build thread if you're interested in considering suggestions; I'd love to see a 330ci build by dropping an M54B30 into a 325ci or 323ci, including the beautiful M-Tech2 sports kit. That would be lovely to see in South Africa.

I will volunteer my E46 330i drivetrain etc to swap into a suitable Ci body..would love to own one!

I bet Gizmo feels its easier to buy an M3 instead of building up a 330ci :p

On the contrary I have been itching to build one for sometime. Just ask Divio and Luben, they both have facelift 325ci msport models, I keep hinting to them each time they visit.

Love your build threads. Always look forward to them. Still need to get my 330ci down to you. Hopefully one day soon.

Must find a non-running, good condition body with black interior then..

So the issue is still there after replacing that sensor. :(

Next I'm going to replace the 4 seals on the boost pipes.

Nice one Warren. What a bargain, and a great spec by the looks of it. Yeah, that boost pipe, I got the bottom piece from the UK and replaced it. Mine was torn badly along the length of the rubber. No issues since.

Thanks rob, been doing some digging on ETK and have come to the same conclusion. Part 17

I've got a spare one on my shelf you can have, I'm looking for a centre console in black if you got one as a swap. Replaced it with a new one as a precaution and nothing wrong with the old one.

Check out item #10 on the following link. You might need to replace this sensor too. I changed mine, but can't seem to find the old one????
