E60/E63 M5/6 wanted

Howzit guys,

I am probably one of the younger fanatics on the group.

My dream is to own a v10 M5 or M6. I have been searching, but mostly just crap on the market at the moment. I would ideally like an '06 model.
I am aware of the maintenance required on this vehicles. Unfortunately, it seems the majority of these beasts have been abused over the years, and things like big end bearings/actuators often overlooked.

If anyone is selling, or knows of a solid one on the market, shoot me a DM.

@Neven has a sorted one but not sure if he is ready to part with it.

There is no shortage of well cared for and sorted ones (as with E92s, probably the majority still on the road at this point are looked after). Unfortunately the owners very seldom want to part with them. The perception that it's all crap on the market is due to the nice ones sitting with people who have owned and loved them for years (and are deeply invested in them). You'd think about the F1x and (now) F9x as well if you just go by autotrader/marketplace. Hopefully someone will put their hands up.

Just bear in mind even a sorted one will need a healthy bank balance to keep going.

Gosh its been a struggle to find one.

I have prepped mentally for the heavy maintenance - there is just something so special about the V10.

I can't see how anyone is signing up for E60s these days, Chris Harris effect I assume.

They're nice cars in theory but absolute nightmares to own relative to the performance on offer.

Dont forget to mention how goddaym ugly they are.
They only sound glorious... They suck at everything else in all honesty. I drove one and was thoroughly disappointed with the way it drove and handled.. Felt underwhelmingly underpowered and that smg is horrendous compared to newer dct and 8hp options..

The appeal is 100% the noise. It's a bit of a donkey, but a loveable one.

I've chased an M6 up a pass before, it's *not* a fast car. But ironically *miles* better than a C63 which looked like it actively wanted to kill the owner (fun???) And again, I'm the slow mode person who's always a gear too high and a brass ball short of real bravery.

Dont forget to mention how goddaym ugly they are.
M6 and 5 both look good to me, but again, if they were R150k, I'd probably be happy to buy one, run it, let it go pop and then N54 swap it :p R500k+ for a car with potential R500k+ issues???

I had a drive in one once ... different experience for me ...felt quick and was a magical experience. Something about the experience that stuck with me .. The DCT swop seems cool.

I was looking at an m6 many years ago. Owner who’s on here took me for a spin. I couldn’t believe how fast this car was. Like proper fast spinning its tyres In 2nd to 3rd and pulling hard. Was slightly modded but what a difference To the stock m5 I drove. Day and night.

I raced a e60 m5 with my m240i and I can say with confidence that only because my car is tuned it was faster. Highway run from boksburg to Bedfordview. He knew his car well and was brave around the corners. Sounded stock but was glorious. I was at times just letting it go to hear it.

I owned one and sold it 5 years ago... Mine was an '09 LCI and I've never seen any other LCI in South Africa ever. It was magical. Deristricted and I hit 320km/h with it and it was EFFORTLESS. Never a single day's trouble til I sold it. Should have kept it. An absolute BEAST!!!

I genuinely love these cars. if I can get a clean E60 with the major things done I would jump at it ( also need the money). Hell a M2 will probably give it a run for its money but I don't think I would be buying it for the speed. I love 5er as a platform for a all things to all men car and the M5 sits on top of that. My E39 M5 sees ass against the M2C does it bother me NO! its a different feel of car and the lunacy of the E60 is worth owning for me. A V10 in a sedan makes not sense.. The repair bills make no logical sense but the last car I bought based on logic was a Corsa Lite.
