Out of curiosity, how much do they charge for the service now, and did you get the 10% discount they offer to fanatic members?

The car has been going well and doing its mommy van duties faultlessly,so I decided more power was needed while switching the EGR,swirl flaps and DPF off for peace of mind.A bit more oomph can't hurt right?

The aim of the game was never to aim for the stars in terms of power, but to have a clean and reliable map which would inevitably give more power if tuned by the right tuner. @Xcede Performance absolutely nailed it and to say I am pleased with how the car is running, would be an absolute understatement. It is definitely more "punchy" low down, but it is still relatively smooth when in comfort and when you are not in too much of a rush, but once you stomp on it a bit,it becomes a proper machine. The Jeckyl&Hyde personality suits the 5 series IMO.

Next on the shopping list would be a downpipe, but the battery is on it's last legs,so I am busy sourcing quotes to have it replaced as a matter of priority within the next few days,so any recommendations are welcome...

Thanks for trusting us with your car Schalk.

It made some respectable numbers on relatively low boost and barely any noticeable smoke.

That's proper Schalk, well done xcede.

I also had to replace the battery just last week. I got the varta H15 agm, 660 . It was a direct fit and specs were the same as oem. Midas in Midland had 2left at 6k.

I see that I missed this post from you,Sash. I coincidentally bought that exact same battery from Midas Midrand. They were way cheaper than all the other battery shops in Centurion/Midrand area.

Just a small update on the vehicle just to try and keep everything updated on the thread:

I had the car serviced this past week and attended to an intermittent starting issue that it had for the last few weeks, which turned out to be the HPFP ,which was luckily replaced under warranty. The HPFP would occasionally not supply enough pressure, which would then cause the car to start and immediately switch off again.Once you start it back up,it would run 110% without any hiccups,so no other symptoms.Luckily all is well again.

The battery was also replaced a while ago and the car is now as good as new again.

Mileage is now at 111 000km
