Hi everyone, trust you are well. I wanted to find out what you gents/ladies get on fuel consumption? Currently im getting 8-9L/100Km on my F20 120D mix driving mostly town/traffic, is this normal ? When i drive hard its pretty thirsty although its tuned so thats understandable.

Thanks in advance

You should be getting around 7-8 atleast with a slightly harder foot on that car, but if it is tuned...dependent on the file it has and what it was mapped for as well.
Some okes go high fueling to get power and the car becomes thirsty, how is the smoke from the exhaust when you drive it? Can you notice smoke or is it light or none?
Also check when last it had its air filter, fuel filter, engine oil flush and oil service. And if it has a DP, also check if there is no leaks anywhere on the joints or the DP itself.

So it has a stage2 file and DP, egr delete in software but im going to blank it of soon, according to my knowledge they have added abit of fuel so it smokes a little bit but it doesn’t look like a tuned 1.9TDI . All maintenance is up to standard all filters and serviced has been done. I want to take it for pressure test to see if the boost pipes are maybe leaking or even on the DP as you said. I was wondering if the injectors could maybe give problems?

I have not experienced many 20d/30d with injectors issues but nothing wrong with checking it out, especially if it is a second hand car and dont know the previous history of it but if you do. I think it will be peace of mind more so... ask for the smoke test as well. Also, buy a bottle of diesel injector cleaner and put it into every 3rd tank... your car tank will only need half the bottle per tank and let it clean itself out.
No hard driving or anything required. I used to experience kak consumption also when I had crap diesel that was filled in the car...

I think your consumption depends on your daily drive. Say if your trip consists of a small distance that's mainly root to robot then id say that's normal.

Give Sasol 10ppm a try and see if it makes a difference.
Also make sure your car is indeed serviced. Check the air filter is clean (easy to check yourself)

Something not right there. At most I get 6.4 per 100km in traffic.

Even if it is a stage 2 file ? I will speak to the tuner and ask 🙏
Can there possibly be something wrong like a boost leak or something causing it to be heavy
What tune is on the car? Who did it for you?
All my cars, and the current X3 and Polo both experienced better consumption once tuned so something is not right here.
