technical Will X7 G07 Tyres work on an X5 G05???

My dad has a 2024 LCI with the 22" non-RFTs (275/35R22 Front and 315/30R22 Rear). There aren't RFTs available in this size

I changed my 22'' non-RFTs to 20" with RFTs due to our roads, I do a lot of night driving, and I feel the safety aspect outweighs the look and drive of the non-RFTs.

I've been pestering my dad to change his as well, but came across another option: Using the X7 spec tyres since they're basically the same but have a thicker profile and are available in Runflats (275/40R22 front and 315/35R22 Rear)

Will the above tyres affect the transfer case, suspension or rub against the inside? can't seem to find any definite info.

The transfer case on these cars uses the ATC13-1 or ATC13-2 case. Both are pieces of crap.
They are sensitive to tyre pressure, tyre tread depth, and wear.

More than a 1% variance across the axles can create transfer case issues.
So theres that to take into account.

When you say there arent RFTs available in 315/30R22, what do you mean? Pirelli makes them.
The 35 or 40 profile will give you a safer ride given our potholes, especially at night, while the 40 is obviously best, but sometimes looks thick depending on the wheel style chosen.

Technically speaking the tyre combinations between the G07 and G05 is largely similar, of not in many cases the exact same, with different offsets.
Check the offsets from what you are removing, to what you want to replace with.

Your transfer case prefers like for like and on international forums some have gotten away with spacers if they touch.
It doesnt matter if the setup is square or offset to your transfer case, but its best to stick with tyre sizes specified on the sticker on the door jamb, since your transfer case is calibrated for those from the factory.

Provided you swop for same across same axle, it should be fine.

Transfer case issues present as low speed turning or shaking which can be felt on the steering, but anyone looking at the car from outside or at the wheels will not see any jerking shuddering.

So I've got a 2019 X5 30d with 89K km and running on 20" Runflat OEM rims and tyres, replaced the 22's that were on there when I bought it (at like 72k)

I recently took the car to ZF for a service and Changed the TC case oil and everything was, and still is fine. The technician did mention that my TC chain is at 17° or something and 18° is the max they service at, and at 21 I would feel shudders. Hoping it doesn't get to that.

My dad has like 20k on his X5, still running on factory spec rims and tyres that came with the car.

My plan was either to buy a full set of X7 rims with tyres for him or just buy the tyres and fit them on his current Rim.

what did they charge for the transfer case oil or did you buy yourself and take it to them?
The oil that came out, when they changed it, was it really black?

Like 500 bucks, they supplied the oil which is the same as the gearbox oil (ZF lifeguard 8 I believe). Total for the gearbox, TC and diffs was 7k (I supplied the Diff oil)

The oil was indeed dark, he mentioned the gearbox oil was in better Nick than the Transfer case (gearbox was more reddish if I remember correctly)

The previous owner probably changed front and back tyres at different times, hence the imbalance in threads between the axles etc

They just told me to make sure that all 4 tyres are OEM spec and that they're all the same brand and similar thread depth
