F30 base audio system upgrade

Hi guys… I’ve been doing some research on upgrading my 2015 LCI F30 320i base audio system. I’ve gone and sought equivalent speakers that would normally come with a Harman Kardon specced vehicle (ie 16 speakers & an AMP)… Do you guys know any where I could have that job done in Western Cape and also if possible do you have any suggestions for alternative options for equipment? I don’t have a budget but I would like to keep the costs reasonable

check on global forums, this is fairly straightforward to fit yourself, then you just need someone with coding skills to get everything to work.
bear in mind, the harmon kardon is marginally better than the base system, the lows are notoriously muddy regardless of the chassis, its just the way the speakers work with the amp and the stock presets.

Google bavsound and you will find better speakers/amp etc but not available locally.
To keep costs low and if you like HK (Im not a HK hater, I have had it in the last 3 cars) fit everything yourself (assuming you can use a screwdriver, trim tools and have patience Not to break clips)) and get someone to do the electronics stuff for you once fitted.

Thank you. Oh what I failed to mention is that I am not looking specifically for harman kardon speakers, I just looked for speakers that could fit in the car that would be similar in layout and number and an amplifier. Ive seen the bavsound options and also audison ( I believe SBR pro sound sells them in SA), however those parts are at the high end of the budget…I do believe though its possible to get something better than a factory HK sound quality with an affordable aftermarket solution. Where I know I will have to spend money is the amp (multichannel amps & a DSP), although Im not certain how necessary they are.

Most decent outfits will be able to help you spec a good system with speakers/amp etc that will work. The big question is really how OEM can you make all of this look if thats what youre going for.

If you dont mind things that stick out of door cards etc, you can have a lot of fun and get away with a much better sounding system for cheaper actually than Bavsound/audison (where the drawcard is largely the OEM look with aftermarket parts).

If you do end up changing everything, create a build thread here and update us. that would help others like you.

Cool man, I will consider that too.
Yes a thread at the very least will follow after the build, as I also thought that there have been many who have gone through the same/similar journey.
