Small Update:

The split screen carplay was really bugging me. Especially after jumping out the Ranger with its iPad size screen to having to look at the small corner on the M for the map or search music.

Thanks to @Morribiscuit for the recommendation, Dylan from CT Carbon hooked my up and Matt from CPT did the coding, quick and easy...

And now full screen Carplay:

This is Awsome. I need this done as well. Even when deselecting split screen it still has a split. Frustrating.

Been a while since I updated this thread. Not much was done to the car as I have been travelling for pretty much the whole of April and when I have had a chance just trying to enjoy the car as much as I can on weekends.

Anyways moving along swiftly, she went in for her annual check up @ BMW at the beginning of May. The rear brake pads are due next but BMW wont do it now even though i can feel it on hard breaking that they not as good as they should be. :(

So when I got the car, it had PPF, but only the front bumper, half the bonnet and the mirror caps were done. Weirdly, only one door cup as well, which I only found out now. 🤦‍♂️
The half bonnet PPF was really bugging me not to mention the quality of the workmanship but was was suppose to be a reputable company. They could not even cut around the PDC sensors in a circle, I'm sure 5/6 yr olds learning how to use scissors can do a better job.

I also wanted to get the car detailed as the swirls were quite noticable and on a black car, you see EVERYTHING! I had been shopping around for quotes and saw a recommendation on the forum for Immaculate Detailing in CPT and made contact. After a quick visit, inspection of the car and a chat around options, we decided on a paint correct, ceramic coating, deep cleaning and detailing of the wheels and a coating and the removal of the badly applied PPF. At this stage I was unsure about getting new PPF installed, but as the car was only booked for the middle of May, and I started this process back in March, I had plenty time to consider it and eventually decided to do the PPF as well, but this time the full front including the fenders and some rear bits as well.

All I can say is that the workmanship and quality was top notch and I think the pictures speak for themselves, so let the pictures do the rest of the talking....

PS. I also took the chance to have the spacers installed. Think the wheels look a bit more aggressive now and not so tucked in anymore....

Thanks for looking...

Wont lower it....considered it, but decided for now wont do anything. Will not be keeping the car past 80k, if fact I will be looking for something else as early as next year.

Small update:

Did a trip to PE this long weekend and finally got to take her out on a long road trip and there are no words that can express how much I enjoyed the drive...for the first time ever I was hoping my destination was further away so I could spend more time driving.

I was also quite surprised at how comfortable the seats were, I expected some discomfort after a couple hours but it was snug and did not feel tired at all.

So prior to leaving I was @ BMW and decided to see what they were pricing the Steering wheels @ especially the one with the LED shift lights, but after hearing the price which could buy me another car, I decided on going with the M Performance Wheel. The grip is great and really enjoyed it on the long drive...some pics below, sorry for the weird angle...

Oh before I forget, the detail job was extremely evident on the trip, reached PE and if you did not look at the bug splattered front bumper, it would be hard to guess that the car had just completed an 800km journey, I was even asked by a relative if I went to car wash upon entering PE. :ROFLMAO:

To all the guys in CPT, I can highly recommend Immaculate Detailing, Naeem's work and his passion for what he does is on another level and a totally awesome guy all around...

Below is a little video of the detailing process and his work....enjoy.... :)

Not much of a BMW related update, but after endless issues or rather one specific issue with my first Next Gen Wildtrak that Ford could not sort out for over 15k kms and a back and forth to the dealership, I finally decided it was time to get rid of that lemon. It is had been sitting at Ford for almost 3 weeks and counting and they still could not fix the issue. Only benefit was getting to drive all the latest models in the range over that period.

So on one of the car swap days, I went and saw the new car sales guy and said I dont want that bakkie back and get me a new one(they have some really great promos running) and considering all my issues and dealing with the same dealership, I got a really good deal on the trade in. Was offered the Raptor and the Platinum, bust honestly as a run around and only doing short distances did not make sense for the petrol guzzler or the V6 in the diesel guise.

So i opted for the next best thing......the Wildtrak X.....better suspension and rides higher (26mm), updated Sync software and all the 4x4 options you would find in the Raptor. Had it for a week now and while the ride is a little harder, I assume it will get better with time or I will just get used to it. The Grabbers are AT tyres and bigger with 17" rims so looks really good and eagerly awaiting a 4x4 course or trail :)

So gave it its first Wash and had to take a pic with its bigger? Older? brother...definitely faster brother. :ROFLMAO:

Thanks for looking...
