So my wife's 2002 330 has an ASC button, but looks like that 2nd photo. So thats why looking at the brake booster is more accurate than looking at what the button on the center console says.

Mine looks like this, but even the label on the pump says ASC
And I can tell you from experience it does not function as well as my dad's car with DSC
There were different versions of both ASC and DSC. I know from 2003 it worked great.

Very interesting. I didn't know the mtech2 kit was available in 2001 already. You definitely have ASC. The DSC only came default late 2002. Even then, you would have an ASC button even with the DSC installed. Only way to know if you have DSC, is too look at how many brake lines you have around the brake booster. The DSC have a bunch extras and an extra module there.

The 6 speed and updated HVAC controls and some other updates came after the facelift, from production date 03/2003 onwards. I _think_ the switch from ASC to DSC also happened with this update.

And for the love of god, please keep this car on the road. As others have mentioned, a facelift, White, mtec2 330i manual is a beautiful and rare thing and this one seems to be worth saving from what I can see.
