Hi guys

Been looking for an F25 for the wife for a while now constantly searching the classifieds.

A few weeks ago went onto the We Buy Cars site and punched in my usual search "X3 30d" followed by "X3 20d". Usually browse through quickly as all the ones priced "decently" are in rough shape.

On this day though, I came across this 2012 30d with 130k kms that looked very clean in the pictures.

The Dekra report (which I know not to trust) was also the cleanest I have seen in my search. The best part was that it was located in Durban which was very rare as all of the ones that sparked my interest previously were in Jhb or CT and the thought and effort of getting someone to view for me was always a put off.

So I got in touch with a salesperson and made arrangements to view that afternoon. Upon viewing and test driving I was extremely impressed with the condition and drive. It was clear the car was very well taken care of.

I had already requested a check from @Coisman (poor man must be so tired of seeing my name on his email with the amount of checks he has done for me LOL). Turns out vehicle had one owner which is rare as hens teeth in this segment. My check with BMW verified this as well. Service History was complete.

With all of the above factors, I immediately reserved the vehicle and the next day took my wife through ensure she liked it.

With that I present our new F25 X3 30d in Mineral Silver.

Did not like the colour very much at first but it is growing on me. The spec is pretty basic but my minimum requirements were xenons and sunroof. The bonus here was 30d, automatic tailgate and rear DVD screens (aftermarket install but very well done). I am not a fan of the wheels but the Pirelli runflats are still great so will keep them until they are worn. Also the ride is fantastic and I can probably do some off road driving with them.

These pics were after a complete detail and ceramic coating as well as anti-smash & grab tint done as I wanted (35% windscreen, 20% front doors and tailgate, 5% rear doors).

I sent it in to BMW for a complete check for piece of mind and all perfect. Also the preventative maintenance has begun and scheduled for gearbox, diff and transfer case services next week.

Plans after preventative maintenance:
Paint wheels Satin Black
Downpipe
RK Motion remap (ECU & TCU)

Distant future plans:
19inch Style 608 wheels for that Xline look.

A rare WBC find, congrats!

Indeed.

I must state though that dealing with WBC from a buying perspective has been horrible. I just had to endure their pathetic "customer service" (if I can even call it that) in order to get the car. Even on the day of collection, after making prior arrangements, they only took the car to go fill fuel (a measly R300 at that) after we got there. Hopefully never have to buy a car from them again.
