So had an unfortunate incident of being reversed into, damaging the rear bumper and the driver side tail light.

Looked at some second hand replacement lights but pricing was ridiculous so decided to apply "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade" and get a set of new oem M Performance LCi tail lights.

Car went off to Shalom Autobody to have the bumper done. While there I also got them to repaint and fit the ACS style roof spoiler I purchased from @BeemerFanatic a while back.

I then got the new lights covered in Stek Dynosmoke by Ricardo at Detail Xcellence for maximum protection. Also didn't like the indicator clear portion and wanted that smoked look. We tried a piece of Dynoshade (lighter) and Dynosmoke and the latter looked better.

Once fitted on the car, it does look quite dark though 🤭 matches the gloss black theme on the car though so I can live with it. Roof spoiler fitted in pics as well.

The light output is excellent despite the shade:

I think the rear end is complete now. Maybe a double tailpiece (328i/330d style) at some point but not keen on cutting the bumper. Have clipped on an oem M135i black chrome tailpiece which looks better than then standard single tailpiece.

Thanks for looking!

Out of interest, any reason for not doing Msport bumpers ?

I guess insurance didnt replace your bumper , cause seems like a missed opportunity to have atleast got the double tailpiece non msport bumper

Mperformance lights is a winner though ...stek looks alot lighter in the latest post ?

1. Wasn't an insurance claim. Other party paid cash for bumper repair and one light, I paid for the other.
2. Prefer the standard bumpers - M Sports are too common I feel, especially with the M Performance lips.

Yes the second post is with the sun facing the rear. Hard to capture the real shade of the Dynosmoke in pics.

how about just doing a de-badge?

I think a black 320d badge would match the theme of the car better.

So finally got an opportunity to send my wheels for a refurb to sort out some corrosion that had picked up over the years due to my 3 x male dogs constantly peeing on them 🦮. Sent them to my good friend Ryan over at Wheel Precision in Ballito and got a set of loan style 261 wheels to keep me mobile while he works his magic. Might go a shade or two darker than the Ferric Grey.

The loan wheels and tyres:

Been wanting windshields for the car for a long time but for the F30 and BMW in general it proved difficult to find. Finally found a set that worked not sure what vehicle it was made for but not complaining. Just need to match a set of rears once more stock arrives.

Hopefully will fit the front splitters back soon, removed them due to one side being loose. Playing with the idea of getting them fabricated into a one piece spoiler by joining the two sides in the centre but will see how it goes.

Anyway that's it for now.

Will update once the wheels are back.

Car is looking great, barring the wheels 😁
(Please ask your buddy if he's willing to sell the 261s or swap them for a set of 264s.
My buddy has a 135i and he's looking for a set, he doesn't work too far from Ballito).

Finally some time to update the thread with the wheels after refurb...

Colour is exactly what I wanted and Wheel Precision in Ballito did a fantastic job.

Also got some all black centre caps from Icon Motorsport.

After the paint cured I applied a ceramic coating on the wheels which has been doing an incredible job of repelling brake dust and making washing them a breeze to clean.

Parked next to this F30 at the mall today and just had to take a pic of the difference on the rear end compared to when I purchased the car.

Note my gloss black 320d badge is still to be fitted. That's just the glue outline at the moment.

List of rear changes:
1. ACS style roof spoiler
2. M4 bootspoiler
3. M Performance tailights covered in Stek Dynosmoke
4. Gloss black wrap to create a diffuser look
5. M135i black chrome tailpiece

No changes besides having the windscreen tinted with Llumar film.

Need to fit the splitters back at some point and hopefully get to fitting the BC Coilovers this year. Last cosmetic mod may be side skirt extensions.

320d gloss black badge still to be stuck on as well.

Conti RFT's are on the last few thousand kms and have acquired a set of Goodyear RFT's to replace them when the time comes.

Mechanically no issues besides maintenance and services. Original clutch is still going strong as well even with the car having software for the past few years.
