Quick M's - M340i

[Quick///M]

Hi Guys

Gone is the F82 M4, it will be missed but became impractical for me in the end, especially with 3 kids.

Enter the M340i Xdrive in Mineral Grey Metallic, has a lot of bells and whistles. It may not be as fast the the F82 M4 especially on top end but it is one quick machine and that's thanks to the X Drive, nothing close to the new M X Drive M cars but definitely doesn't feel like it lacks power. Raced a few stock M135i, M140i, C43s mercs and was comfortably ahead. Neck and neck with a M2 Comp from the line until 160ish where the M2 starts pulling away.

As some of you have read I did fit the M Performance Exhaust recently made quite the difference in exhaust note. So far car will remain stock motor plan has become like gold these days it will be a nightmare to risk losing the motor plan

So far very happy with this car it puts a smile on my face each time I drive it and a frown when I am refueling 😂 Planning to get the most out of it before the next upgrade. I love the new G series Interior BMW did well

Thanks bud I would of been leaning toward X3 M40i as well but luckily my wife has an X series vehicle as well looks like her next upgrade is going to be X3 M40i. But I would of been happy with either more so been able to hook up a bicycle rack on the X3

So far treating me well, the annoyance I picked up as follows

1. The Bluetooth on my Samsung Note 20 Ultra would cause the idrive 7 to reboot randomly during driving, change Bluetooth AVRCP from version
version 1.6 to 1.5 resolved the issue (have to enable developer options on the phone). Please note once changing to version 1.5 you need to
delete/unpair both on the bmw idrive system and on the phone itself, and repair via bluetooth. *Edit* Stutter on Android auto remains!!!
2. Android Auto on tidal stutters also happens randomly, seems tons of other cars not from the bmw stable suffer with this, will see if the above
by some miracle resolved the stutter, apparently this is due to poor coding on android auto (So it's a google thing).
3. Digital Keys are only available from the galaxy note 21 and later, not a bmw problem but does suck I was not intending to upgrade my phone
for at least another 2 years. All these android issues is pushing me towards getting an Iphone now. But I love android to death!
4. Early 2020 release M340i models would pop, crackle and bang like crazy, until bmw decided to put an end to it with a software update and
blamed it on emissions and improving engine lifespan. That sucks BMW!!! Its like giving a child a Xmas present and taking it away 2 minutes
later!!

Will report on other issues if any, hope the above helps someone!

The general consensus is that bmw underrated the power, but who is complaining 😂 Don't tell them they might take it away with a software update

Thanks Bro.... point 4 was also done on the Gen1 b58. They killed some power in the midrange as well which sucked. I felt the difference straight after getting my car back from BMW. It boiled down to poor fuel quality in SA which caused a few blown motors. One of the reasons i really wanted to mod the car lol
