On Tuesday evening i went to a mates house to collect a few things as he is leaving for the UK.
A few small items turned into a full size treadmill, a dressing table with built in drawers and cupboard, 3x 9kg gas bottles and a 27'monitor.

All the big items loaded into the back of the P and i drove home like nothing happened.

Leaving for https://www.ruahpark.co.za/ tomorrow for its 1st camping trip - pics to follow ;)
Now that you mention it, I need to move a "few things" next week....

Headed off to Ruah Park last week Friday.
Awesome place to chill out and realign my Shakra's.

The P was loaded up with every thing from my Mountain bike, tents, gear, wood, gas bottles and food, she performed well.

Congrats Nick. Only reading the thread now. A few of my friends have gone this route.

Once you get into these new double cabs you just want to stay and drive. I love the Amarok but i still think they overpriced in the market.

Enjoy the journey.

I just have to add my 2cents, I recently took delivery of the facelift Haval H2 1.5T Luxury Auto and I was quite miffed for a few days after selling the BMW but I have to say, this little car really surprised me and I've come to quite like it.

The Chinese have really up'ed their game with these vehicles. I had a look at the P Series and it's really well spec'ed and not bad looking. Let's hope the after sales service doesn't drop the ball.

Congrats

Amen

My wife's C Class Merc (and her dad's E class for that matter) can do all sorts of things including parking itself and warning of all sorts of impending doom. We have used most of these things probably once or twice just for the novelty... In scenarios where you would want park assistance you probably wouldn't trust the car to park itself anyway (if you've experienced this it is very disconcerting to begin with let alone in a scenario you yourself are uncomfortable with.

Information is OK (eg: speed limit info) but when it is pinging or forcibly changing your speed or pulling you back into a lane that is where it becomes a disaster. People who need those functions to intervene SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING. It reduces your capabilities and encourages distracted driving IMHO

Even infotainment stuff: ultimately if it can stream bluetooth or let us use Spotify/Apple music and give access to your virtual assistant, there isn't much more we need (we are probably getting too old for these gadgets). Weather etc? Who on earth cares when you have this info on your phone, PC, laptop, watch etc etc etc in a more consumable way.
HOw people have not figured that out.

Took the P in for its 15000km service yesterday.
Made a booking online, service advisor called me within 5 mins.
Upon my arrival at Fury Haval woodmead (7am) i was assisted immediately by the workshop manger, then the service advisor.
Car was booked in and a driver was sent to me to take me to work.
At about 3pm i was called by the service advisor, telling me my car was done and washed and was ready to collect.

He then asked if he could send a driver to collect me, which i accepted.

Smooth and painless experience.

Small update.
With my GF now working in Northriding, my daily commute is the South>northriding>sandton and back again in the afternoon.
126k's a day.

The P-series had just clocked 18k, and it keeps going.

I have an ECU SW upgrade lined up next week to smooth over a few issues.

Im still smiling.

How is the fuel economy?

Very cool. How is the ride quality - I've watched numerous reviews on the bakkie now. There are some comments that the ride quality - specifically the rear set up is a bit hard. The other comment (and I've heard same on the Rangers) is the lane keep assist gets annoying when for instance trying to avoid potholes etc. - any comments on this? I am sure one can code this out - not sure if Carly perhaps has support for the bakkie yet. I am asking cause I am also a fan of the bakkie!

So the rear in a bit hard/bouncy when its not loaded, but you dont really feel it to much in the front.
Its a body on frame bakkie so its not going to feel like in suv/saloon anyway and i have accepted that.
My spec doesnt have all the tech assists, which im fine with too. I had the top spec car for two days and all the tech drove me mad.
All i have is rear PDC and down hill assist.

100% - must get what is suited to your needs. And I think if one adds a canopy or a roller shutter on the back, the extra weight will assist in the bouncy ride. Thanks for sharing, appreciate that.
