X1 f48 engine mounts

I bought an 2017 X1 xdrive 20d with 66 000kms recently from a family member. The car had a clean history with no work done on it. The motorplan was extended until the end of 2022 by the previous owner. I test drove the car and even after buying and driving for 2 weeks everything seemed ok. The ride was a bit harsh but I thought it was normal.

After searching for common faults(wanting to check everything before the motorplan expires), i found that the engine mount near the drivers side was notorious for failing.

To test it out, put the car in drive, press the brake pedal with 1 foot and then the accelerator with the other. If the engine mount is defective, you will get quite a big vibration/shuddering through the cabin. You can also ask someone to look for excessive movement of the engine when doing the same procedure.

Alternatively, you can look visually for any leaks or collapsing of the engine mount.

The mount was replaced under motorplan, and the ride quality improved immensely, with everything being much smoother. I guess the mount fails gradually and slowly worsens without the owner realizing the change in ride comfort.

If anybody's f48 (maybe x2 as well?) is coming out of motorplan or if you're looking at a second hand f48 check out the engine mount.
