In regards to the sound install...what does it sound like?
Is the bass clear?...any rattles?...does the sound get "lost" when the top is dropped?

@Laigo, Can't wait to see how you fitted the system! Keep me updated on it please! I noticed that with my subs I cant build a box on an angle coz the magnet side of the sub is to "long" so it wouldn't fit (would wedge against the bottom of the box), so maybe you can figure something out?

@Taffs, Under 65k is a very good price imo, paid 52k for mine.

@Phoenix, there is always a way to fit sound in a car, :) just need to put our heads together and figure out what setup would work the best. I have seen setups where they fit the sub between the 2 rear seats like this in the link.

@DROP IT - ZN, Always a pleasure to see people with the same type of cars! The bass that my setup gives is more clear bass than SPL Comp bass. My only rattles so far is my numberplate and that plastic trimming where the roof light is. A Lil bit bass is lost with the top down, but not so much to worry about, but I have noticed there is more bass outside the car than inside (With the top open & closed)

Thanks for the awesome comments!

Would like to get some feedback on how this will work, how it will sound and how to do it.

Just an example

It works well,i have seen and heard a car with that setup...but dont we have that compartment where the roof folds in behind the seat which will prevent it from going into the convertible?

Hi Neelsie,

For The sub enclosure I can help you out as I have done one for my ride too (similar to the JL enclosure pic I sent you)

@Taffs, looking good so far mate.

@Neelsie, the first pic is out, as that's where your top's motor is stored. Pic no.2 doesn't look like an E36, ours is smaller

Okay, now where are these pics?????

Neelsie, I will start my measuring this evening. The sub I chose was a Rockford Prime 10inch. The magnet and chassis is smaller than the rest of the RF range (i.e Punch and Power), so this is essentially the "baby" I opted for. This allows me more flexibilty in designing my enclosure. And I'm told bass delivery will be more than enough (hey I'm not gonna be entering my vert in any SPL competitions soon :) )

Below is a basic design for what I have in mind, you can just play with the depth of your box to accomodate your woofer, but just don't make it too big
