Hi everyone, been a while since I posted last.

I am thinking about buying a 2017 Mini Cooper JCW from a BMW dealer with FSH, 45 000 km's, lots of extra's fitted and there are no comments on the car. On the face of it, it is a great deal.

I also got the detailed motorplan line items that have been attended to since new - Problem is that motorplan have covered costs amounting to +/- 60k since new.

Big ticket items that went wrong include: Engine mounts, adaptive shock (not sure if 1 or all 4) and a item relating to turbo.

As a relatively new car, it seems like a lot went wrong in the first 4 years of Mini ownership compared to my 2013 M135i which only needed oil, filter and 1 set of pads for a similar mileage period.

Your views would be appreciated - Good buy or stay away?

Thanks Charles

I recently bought a new JCW hatch. Amazing little car and actually good value for what you get (power/motor plan/awesome brakes/performance). Have it for a few months now and the drive is awesome with the usual understeer with fwd cars but it is well controlled and the chassis is sorted and the adaptive dampers works a treat. in my short experience alone I would say go for it.

if you getting a 2017 then assume Motorplan would run to sometime in 2022 which gives you a window to sort stuff out and then just extend the warranty after.

Thanks XPD, appreciate the feedback. I did buy the car, very happy on the whole. Motorplan expires in Oct 2022, so Yes - Got coverage for the next year and will look at a warranty post that period. Cheers c
