This was long overdue. All I have to say is – bullying works

Let me introduce you to my 2012 Mineral White Metallic E92 335i DCT

It was quite an interesting story on how I got this car. I was moving back to South Africa after some time in Portugal and I needed a daily. As you might know, I was actually after an F20 M135i. After not having much luck as I was quite picky with what I was after, I ended up stumbling upon this very car. Now, at the time, I wasn't even in the country yet. I had sent my folks to have a look at the car for me. I need to commend my parents for the great job they did (especially my mother) who took a complete walk around video of the car showing me all its quirks and features. It was after my mother unknowingly panned over the aluminium charge pipe in the engine bay that I was totally convinced as the person who owned this car prior not only kept up to date with regular maintenance but also preventative maintenance. By this point, I had already had the vehicle checked by Coisman and a printout of service records via BMW. I told them to pull the trigger on it and they took it home.

This was a complete service history car (as confirmed by BMW when my parents went to get the printout) and was overall very clean. It went to BMW until the obligatory 100 000km mark, when motorplan expired, services were kept up to date by 3rd party workshops thereafter. Cosmetically, the outside was about an 8/10 but the interior got a perfect score. The rear bumper was definitely resprayed at some point as a previous owner of this car backed into something, cracking the shoddy paint and nicking the diffuser. The drivers front headlight washer cover is also a completely different colour to the rest of the car.. this could be anyones guess as to why. Otherwise, the car is super clean besides the common stone chip or two on the bonnet.

I am not by any means new to the E9x platform as I've had an E92 M3 LCI 6MT. I knew what to look out for and I knew what was a good creature comfort. This car ticked all the boxes for me, most importantly the Harman Kardon system which I believe the be one of the best sound systems in a car on the roads today, it easily trumps the HK in the newer F series vehicles by a landslide.

This car has a very good spec from factory:

The car is otherwise stock standard minus an aluminium charge pipe and a downpipe of course done by Mohamed @ RAZA in Midrand. It's more standard now than when I got it actually as there was an offensive M colour grille sticker set which was the first thing to go once I got the car in my hands.

I plan to keep the car stock on its original exhaust and original 313s (boring, I know) but I'm not into the whole modifying thing anymore like I once was when I was a youngster. The only real 'mod' I've done to date besides the downpipe was an MMI system to add CarPlay to the OEM iDrive system (I even wrote a guide on installation, go check it out!)

Anyway, enough with the yapping, enjoy the photos.
