Nice work Gizmo, how long did the transplant take?
:clapper:
It took 3 months to complete as I had to give preferences to customer's cars. My garage was chaos in that time as there were car parts everywhere! I just made the final slog now these past 2 weeks to get the car finished and to restore some sort of order to my garage. Now I have garage floor space again and it doesn't look like a scrapyard in here anymore.

must be a weirdo feeling having a 6 pot in there but everything else looks to same as it did with the 4 pot

I can feel the added weight on the nose of the car through the steering and handling but the torque and the sound of the M52 with the single 63mm freeflow exhaust make up for the weight distribution imbalance. Its also nice to have cruise control in the E36 for a change, oh and airconditioning again by the end of today.

Great work, this car has been crying to get rid of the 4pot. Now it has the performance to match the looks :coolShake:

I'm sure this car must haul ass with that 6 speed gearbox and short diff coupled with the 6pot in there

Wow, well done!
It looks like a 328i straight off the production line.
:praise::praise::praise:
Thank you.
That was the idea, that also why it took so long to finish. I could have done it the easy way but I wanted all the bells and whistles that only the late 1997/1998 models had.

Well, there's only one way to it, the right way! Once again, hats off Gizmo.

For now it has the standard 328i factory ZF 5spd box in there coupled to my 3.73:1 LSD. I will refit the 6spd box soon enough as the highway RPMs are a little high, but yeah, she fux off on the 3.73!!!

Oh yeah, my buddy regassed the aircon this evening so she's ready for a daily driver again. 4 degrees at the centre vent.:chef:

Show us the interior please!! :clapper:
uploading now.

8 year old cheap Traxion coil overs are out!

New Meyle HD rear shock mounts fitted to the almost brand new M3 Bilstein shocks, Koni springs were from my former Acid Green 328i.

Unfortunately the Koni front springs don't fit the almost brand new M3 front Bilstein shocks. :( Will make another plan for the correct springs. So Koni front springs were fitted to some 2nd hand standard 328i shocks for now.

New OEM air filter.

New OEM oil filter and LM 5w40, had put a cheaper oil into the motor when I fitted it just to flush out the motor. Now it has the right stuff.

Finished off the oil service with a poser oil cap.

Some pics of the interior, here you can see the new footwell lights. Currently looking for a decent condition black glove box lid, centre armrest and driver's side A pillar cover.

New vanity mirror lights.

My M3 cluster will replace the stock 328i cluster soon enough.

Boot got a strut brace.

Current ride height with the Koni springs.

Now the car needs a proper valet and detail done.
